eggbeast 3684 Posted September 14, 2016 Does anyone know how to set the aiming point in a scope reticle? My new M84 scope for the M1 Carbine has a central post that protrudes ABOVE the horizontal line of the scope. It is shooting to BLUE below whereas I would like it to shoot to PINK. I guess there are several ways to achieve this. I'm assuming that the gun always shoots in the centre of the screen, to your cursortarget location, so 1. In the texture for the scope reticle I could lower the whole thing down so that the centre point of the texture is on the post tip. 2. I could modify the modeloptics p3d and lower the model (which is mapped to the reticle texture) about 2 millimetres I tried moving up the "eye" point (defined in the scope config) in the momory lod for the physical model of the scope tube but that makes no difference. anyone got a decent suggestion? also doe anyone know how to make the texture work in widescreen so it doesn't show the blanked sides you see above? x3kj 1247 Posted September 14, 2016 3) you could change the default zero
eggbeast 3684 Posted September 14, 2016 true, but starting the zero array at say 700m would then read wrong - making people think the rifle is zeroed at 700m when it is 100m. or have i misunderstood?
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted September 14, 2016 You might be able to change the displayed range text by creating a custom weaponInfoType Resource class for that scope, instead of using the standard RscWeaponRangeZeroingFOV or RscWeaponRangeZeroing and their associated UI controls[]. But then you're in the realms of dialog scripting.
eggbeast 3684 Posted September 14, 2016 thanks guys, so most likely, i will need to reconstruct my scope reticle and move it downwards, to put the centre post tip right in the centreofthe screen... damn that was a lot of alpha blending in photoshop ive gotta now re-do... i stupidly thought i would just move the eye point and it would have some effect lol

I have yet to play around with the SDK tools but i think that would be the best option having a fixed zero.
eggbeast 3684 Posted September 14, 2016 While the ironsight zeroing is limited to 300m, with the scope mounted it shoots great to about 700m, after that forget it. with a 2.2x scope you can't even see the target lol.
