Eagle1992 373 Posted August 20, 2016 G'day Ladies and Gentlemen. I am currently working on implementing vehicles to Arma 3. But it is bothering me that a T72 has the same TI device as a modern Leopard 2A7 and I thought about making the Optic low resolution and adding a warm up time. But I can not thing about a way how to do it. So I figured I could ask if anybody did this already. Greetings Eagle.

x3kj 1247 Posted August 21, 2016 Regarding the question - the only solution i can think of would be utilizing post-processing effects to worsen the image quality. The max viewing range could perhaps also be adjusted (basically the inverse of what the ACE zoom-in viewing range adjustement does). https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Post_process_effects Optics can have "static" postprocesses added to them via config (means they can't be removed via script). Warmup time can be added by simply making the screen black via a scripted postprocess and later remove it. Low resolution can't be made however (at least not to my knowledge). You could make the screen smaller, but that would be kinda uncomfortable. You could also do a RTT-only-screen, but since they are not only lower res, but also way lower fps, and quality is heavily dependant on their Video Option settings, i wouldnt use that option. Dslyecxi made a nightvision improvement (or rather - worsening^^) for shacktac, very likely using post process effects. Unreleased yet, but i would think (hope) he will release it at some point when he is happy with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPj6yP69lMA what t72? there is no t72 in arma 3Is it really necessary to point out the existance of mods in a modding subforum? Eagle1992 373 Posted August 22, 2016 I tried now to configure a black screen via Post Processing but i don't know how to enable the black screen only for the Thermal Imaging, i don't want the normal Optics to be black while the TI Device is starting. why yes there are many types of t72 out there with varying types of optics packages. Is that really important for a topic dedicated to make TI Devices in general more realistic?

That would actually be cool for a scope or goggles: be able to see it floating in front of your face, with lower resolution, lower framerate, added blur, and then be able to see the real world around it.
