why does the copy and paste function not work from scenario to scenario using the 3D editor .

Recommended Posts

Why can't I copy units triggers markers ect and just paste on a new map /mission like we could with the 2d editor. I can copy and paste on the same map/mission but if I open a new map/mission the paste function does not work why! This makes remaking a mission a pain in the ass.

Press "M" to open 2D map.

Highlight what you want and Ctrl-C to copy it.

Open your other scenario, press "M" to open map again and Ctrl-V to paste.

Drag a box around things in the 3D view and press Ctrl-C.  Or ctrl-click on things under the Entities list then press Ctrl-C.

Scenario, New, pick your map, Ctrl-V and objects and whatever you copied from the previous map are pasted.

I am sorry you can just copy from one mission and paste to a new mission like we did in the 2D editor unless I'm missing something.

How do you save CUSTOM COMPOSITION I don't see the option in the 3D editor. Why why would they take that away from Scenario to scenario. It still works control C ctrl-V on the same mission but not from one mission to a new one!!!

Of course you can, I just explained how. :)  You don't need to create a composition to copy from one mission to another.

I see now how to use the composition function it is pretty cool but still has some draw backs then the whole copy and paste from the 2D editor. No waypoints will be copied and the exact placement of multiple units and objects are far harder now than before. But it does have some nice features and easy to use (:
