Tasks disappear after loading save game. Apex and 1.60

Recommended Posts

I noticed a bug in 1.60 that is still present after the APEX update.

Save a game (campaign or otherwise) and quit ARMA.

Start again and load save game.

In the Map, under TASKS, it will be empty with no visible tasks or waypoints

No mods running. Currently playing the End Game scenario but had the same issue in 1.60 for all missions in the East Wind campaign.

I can confirm this. Same problem here.

I just found this: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T119273

There is a solution mentioned:

I found the issue! At first i found it via Launcher. So did all the recommended TS including safemod/resetting settings.

It turns out if you run it with Command " -skipintro" either via launcher or directly via arma3.exe, this issue is reproducible!

I will try this later.

This fix appears to have worked, thanks for the tip!  :D

I unticked the SKIP INTRO box in the launcher and was able to load a saved game with tasks.

Thanks for this. I will give it a try later as well. I've been doing a number of things to work around this issue from trying to complete missions in one sitting to marking all tasks (when available) on the map before saving and exiting.

***EDIT***

I gave this a try last night without any luck. It may work when playing official missions or campaigns but it still didn't fix the issue when playing a custom campaign.

Yeah, same here.

I have this problem too but I don't use the launcher parameter skipintro.

But the bug seems to be reproduce-able - at least for me:

Save game, exit Arma, resume the mission -> no tasks.

Hi, was wondering if people are still suffering from this bug.

I do use MODS.

Now playing HUNTER 6 and all tasks disappeared in the Map Menu.

Happened to many other missions as well.

Yes, I think nothing has changed as there was no new patch for the game yet.

As the ticket in the bug tracker says, BI is aware of it though. They ask for feedback, if it's fixed in Dev branch (but I don't use it, thus I can't give feedback :) ).

But changing this and / or this, the bug didn't come again.

The unchecking of Skip Intro worked for me.

Nobody has actually said if this is actually fixed yet or not in dev branch.

This really, really is a most annoying problem in long missions (the longer the better, as far as I`m concerned). How skipping the intro and not initially loading in a terrain that you probably aren`t going to be using for the mission you are actually going to resume could possibly kill the tasks/team info, etc in the mission you are resuming from a save file in the first place is a massive mystery to me.

Yes - by not ticking the skip intro, and not ticking World=Empty, this really annoying bug doesn`t appear, but c`mon. those options are there to make our beloved arma open up much quicker so we can get stuck right into the action asap.

For the love of all things shooty, please let this be gone by the next stable branch update.
