Fog of War - MALD-J Decoy system

Recommended Posts

This would be an intersting thing:  Miniature Air Launched Decoy Jammers (MALD-J)

I have an idea to implement that but would take some experimentation....

  • First, it would require a new friendly plane that has all the "accuracy", "camoflauge" and other types of features turned up so it is easy to spot by the enemy.

  • Give this new plane an invisible View LOD so that it doesn't visually appear and break the illusion.  Perhaps another type of "friendly" target would be better, like a "class Strategic" target or something that the enemy can target.

  • Shoot the missile.  The missile will have to have a FIRED EH or other type of trigger (perhaps via cfgcloudlets scripting) to make the missile execVM an INIT script.

  • Using this INIT script, spawn the new friendly plane.  Have it follow or otherwise be positioned near the missile along its trajectory.

  • The INIT script must "disableAI" the plane so it behaves as intended.  It would have to, otherwise AI will take over and make the "decoy" attack or fly in circles.

  • The INIT script would also need to configure a waypoint for it so it flies to the waypoint when it spawns.

When the enemy sees it, they will obviously shoot at it instead of at the plane.  Net result being the missile and its invisible "plane" in tow will make the enemy shoot at it instead of you.

Final thought - is that VBS being used in the very last bit of the youtube vid?

I don't think I've ever seen a multi billion dollar defence contractor have good cgi in their promo videos.
