112 APILAS RsKes (112mm APILAS LRAC) v1.0

-----------------------------------------

by Blake & Murmeli of LDD Kyllikki

WWW: http://kyllikki.tiimipeli.net/

Feedback: gblake@luukku.com

DESCRIPTION:

Heavy disposable man-portable unguided anti-tank rocket launcher. Manufactured by GIAT industries of France.

Armor penetration: ca. 700mm of steel

Effective range: 300m

Used by: at least French and Finnish armies.

Entry to service: 1983 (in France).

HOW TO AIM:

Place the middle line to the hinge between tank's turret and hull. With that aiming method one should be able to score hits up to 330 meters.  You can use sights to determine range to tanks by using the sight when tank is directly sideways so that rear and front barely touch the hyperbel markers

left and right. When tank is facing you, place the tank on either side of the vertical line and you are also able to determine range. Note that the 'second sight' in the upper right corner is intended for left-handed soldiers as the sights may be switched to right side of the weapon in real life.

In OFP this feature is non-functional.

Wow! Some familiar equipment smile.gif

I like the APILAS sights and recoil when shooting, but the textures could be a bit more detailed. No offense tho, I'm sure it's not that easy to find accurate pictures of the weapon.

Too bad the night vision cannot be implemented.

Kasapanos is pretty nasty, those OFP soldiers must be very strong to throw a 5 kg charge even as far as they are now able smile.gif

Nice addons anyway!

Yeah, the textures look crappy but I look forward to improve them in the future.

1 question...

if you throw that throwable satchel charge somewhere.....is it possible to pick it up again?

Nah, it explodes when it touches the ground.

This addon would be nice for winter war scenarios (finnish vs. russian) if only WWII finnish & russian addons would exist sad.gif

Nice work on the apilas but as you said yourself it could use a new skin. Also for the next update on it could you consider making the warhead (inventory) smaller?? . Its a "one shot" weapon so to only run around with 4 mags after you shot it is to little i would say. Maybe only 4 slots (6 slots now) That way it would still be to big to make it worth running with two warheads (would leave you with 2 mags) and you would still be able to have 5 mags and a grenade. Just something to think about. Keep up the good work.

interesting suggestion dkraver, but I'm affraid it would be more annoying to have the possibility to carry 2 rockets. With apilas on your back you'd really wouldnt want to have any extra weight anyway and 4 mags should be enough for APILAS launcher. After all you can drop it after you fired the shot.

The grenades are great, vrey fun to use, but I tend to blow myself up a bit =D
