Across the Channel - A British WW2 Modification (Help needed!)

What is that in the first 2 screenshots?

I'm guessing a pattern 37 backpack.

Yes it is supposed to be the makings of the pattern 37 backpack. Again, help needed!

Hi Chains, I am speaking to the project leader of War Chronicles. Their mods are very high quality and they have a team of very highly skilled people already. This project is an opportunity for less skilled people to have a go at creating content with no real commitments just to bridge the gap until the really nice mods start appearing.

They are very nice.

Will they be in the ArmA 3 version of your mod?

No, this theme we left, but I can provide models.

Anything you have to put forward would be greatly appreciated my friend.

Who would I give credit to?

Nice to see Brit stuff!

However, a few pointers.

Your 37 Small Pack appears to be both horrendously under-loaded and too large. It's missing the groundsheet from the flap and the proportions are off. The closing straps should not descend below the bottom of the pack. What you've actually modelled there is what looks more like a Large Pack - the carry bag for the Greatcoat, which remains on the Platoon Lorry unless you're in FS Marching order. Attached is a reference photograph, to help you.

Your battle bowler looks about right, so far. Keep pushing on. I sincerely hope you're going to change the colour however!

Your SMLE is a bit short. In addition, you're doing Normandy, yes? The SMLE was not carried in large numbers, having been phased out for the Lee Enfield No.4. It is different enough in that people will notice. Picture attached.

Otherwise, looking good. I have a particular interest in all things Brit, particularly during WW2 as it's my specialism/what I do for a living :P

Will be following with interest.
