germanske_norge 43 Posted May 30, 2015 Since I've started installing addons onto my arma 3, I am now getting kicked off of every server I try to join, how can I launch arma 3 through a clean start where it is no longer modded, yet am still able to launch it with the mods I have installed when I want to? Jackal326 1181 Posted May 30, 2015 It depends how you've installed the addons. If you've done it the 'sensible' way (i.e. used @mod folders), see below. If you've done it the 'retarded' way and put everything into your main addons folder, then you're screwed and will have to manually remove all extra .pbo files from the 'addons' folder and move them to '@mod\addons\here' Assuming you used the 'sensible' method, you have two options: 1. Use the launcher to enable/disable mods. 2. Use mod folders and separate shortcuts.
germanske_norge 43 Posted May 31, 2015 The 'sensible' way, often does not work for the majority of addons for most people. I use playwithsix to organize my addons, which I placed into my Arma 3 game folder, possibly I can move them back into my Arma 3 mods folder, which may fix it
Hud Dorph 22 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) Moving them to Arma3 mods folder will for sure make you loose controll over your mods i guess. PW6 installs mods the right way. Im not sure how routined you are in arma3, so im gonna ask you a basic question. Are you sure the servers you join allow the mods you try to join with ? What kind of error message do you get when you get kicked off ? I you want to start without any mods just dblclick or make a desktopshortcut to Arma3.exe in the Arma3 folder and bypass the launcher. serjames 357 Posted May 31, 2015 If you've dropped mod folders, add-ons, or pho files specifically into the Arma3/addons folder you're screwed. Your best bet is a fresh start. Uninstall arma from steam. Ensure that folder is completely deleted with no mod files hanging around and try again. The guys are right, all mods should be discreetly named and saved in their own @mod folder. I can second the recommendation for PW6. It can be clunky to use but is super simple in operation and makes the job of maintaining your modlist much easier.

Jackal326 1181 Posted May 31, 2015 The problem is that many times creating my own @mod folder did not install the mod properly. I'm not entirely sure how anyone can mess up unpacking .pbo and .bisign files to '@MyCoolModFolder\addons\' and then running the '-mod=@MyCoolModFolder' in launch parameters... I did not mess it up, it simply did not work for many of the addons that I installed.
HigherState 13 Posted June 1, 2015 Excuse me fellas, this has nothing to do with the subject that the OP put, I just have a short question. Ive registered and confirmed I know the rules of the forum, but I have a question on my own and there's literally no button to post a new thread, how can I do it? I really want to ask something thats important to me. Yet again, I apologise! Thanks in advance.

Jackal326 1181 Posted June 2, 2015 I did not mess it up, it simply did not work for many of the addons that I installed. Not trying to pick a fight, but 99% of addons will work if you install and run them correctly (the 1% having been broken by game patches etc, but that is another issue entirely). Either the installation or execution of the target line was broken if they simply "did not work".
kbbw123 115 Posted June 2, 2015 Easiest solution for A3 is to use the A3 Launcher from bis. implement the game foder as where it should look for the mods and tick/untick the ones you want/don't want. if you wanna run compleet vanilla you just make sure you have no mods ticked and of you go pure vanilla game. Jona33 51 Posted June 2, 2015 Only few days or do I also need to have a certain number of replies in order to start a new thread? Requires a few posts, I can't remember what the requirement is. It's in the rules but it's hidden away in a little note down at the bottom, they really need to make it more obvious.

I can't find it either, they might have moved it or it might only appear when you first sign up or something. I think it's around five posts however.
