Matthijs 40 Posted September 25, 2002 The (my ) Diemaco C7A1 from DKM has been released. Along with the two C7A1 versions (with and without Elcan), the weaponpack holds an open BETA of the C7LSW, light support weapon. The latter also comes in two versions, again with and without the Elcan optics. The C7LSW looks like an M16 on steroids. It's basically an M16 with only an auto-fire mode. The cyclic rate (rate of fire) is lower than that of the M16 and C7A1, to give the gunner better control over his weapon. Even when emptying a complete magazine, at 100m all bullets will group within 1/2 m or so. The final version of the LSW will arrive in about a week. The model and statistics will probably not change, but in the final version you can expect to see the A.I. use the C7LSW in the way it should be used: spraying loads of bullets in the direction of the enemy. Preliminary tests of the final LSW version showed impressive numbers of acute lead poisoning on the enemy side. [edit] OUCH, forgot the URL! Eviscerator 0 Posted September 26, 2002 its an ok addon, dont see a huge lot of use for it in non canadian/scandinavian forces missions, if it was a completely new gun it would be great, but its just too much like the M16A2 from the game

Matthijs, you guys have mad an excellent addon. Only two slight problems though: 1) The C7A1 has no 3 round burst mode. Or does it have it in Scandanavia? 2) The top of the stadia post and the edges of the parallel lines do not glow in the daytime, only at night. But I can see that this is probably an OFP thing, not because of the mod makers. When I was about to use the iron sight C7A1, I thought you guys wouldn't have bothered to make the flat top reciever with the clip-on post, I was just expecting another full-auto M-16. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the mod makers put some real effort into this mod. Excellent job. Tyler

C7, C8 etc.
Matthijs 40 Posted September 26, 2002 1: Thanks for your feedback, this is the kind of critiscism I was looking for! I'll double check the firing modes. It will be updated in the next release. It seems you have fired the gun in real life, and probably know what you are talking about. If the Dutch forces (I'm Dutch, not scandinavian) use a 1-3-A version, I will release both a 1-A and 1-3-A version. [edit] DARN! Now that I think of it, 3 firing modes would probably be technically impossible for AR15 type weapons. Next version will be 1-A only! [/edit] 2: What should be the cyclic rate in your OFP? Realistic or compliant to the OFP-M16 statistics? [edit] FYI: cyclic rate is currently "OFP compliant", not realistic[/edit] 3: As for the Elcan, yes it's an OFP thing. I cannot make it glow either. Maybe it would be the best solution to make it 100% black?
dkraver 1 Posted September 26, 2002 Great work As others said it only have single and full auto but you are already on that. About the cyclic rate keep it OFP compliant until theres some one that makes something to follow so guns wont be overpowered. And keep the green spots on the elcan Also a thing/feature that would be nice to add to the finished LSW, would be to give it the choice of either Normal mag ( the one it got now) and the C-mag (The Danish homeguard uses the c-mag as main mag, and it would be the better choice to a support weapon). And make them change ingame like on some of the weapons in the HK-Pack. Also would be a nice thing when playing and the LSW guy runs out of ammo to give him some of your ammo. Are you working on other Diemaco weapons?? One that seems to be missing if you think of both canadian, dutch and danish forces are the C8. Other things that would be great is this C7 with M203A1 C8 with M203A1 C7CT with a big scope SFW SFSW Keep up the good work

The result would be dramatic. I've seen a Minimi that accepted M16 mags, just like the real thing. The effect however was a minimi that fired 3-round bursts, and even sounded like the M16. I wouldn't want that to happen to my weapons. Yes, I would love a script that makes this possible! Just think of it: equip a unit with M16's, M4's, C7's, SAW and all would be interchangable! I also think that creating a script like that, would fall outside the scope of creating addons. The C-mag is possible, but I'm not inclined on creating it. It's a quite a bit of work, and I'm concentrating on creating equipment for Dutch Royal Marines. (C7A1, LSW, FN MAG, AT4). Not that I don't like the C-mag, but I just lack the time. Maybe if a day would have 48 hours... BTW, I'm currently working on the FN MAG. Maybe I'll ask Fliper for a few components, ok? If he accepts, I might create an extra bunch of C7/8 weapons. (but I don't promise anything! ) The production of the FN MAG will take quite a few weeks, and I have a pretty big workload for my website, so don't exepect any-new-Diemaco-thing before november. nuddicrous 0 Posted September 26, 2002 Wow, I need to find some book or something, you weapon guys are hardcore. Nevertheless, it's an impressive sounding addon, and I've already downloaded it. Now all I need is my student loan, and to fire off an email to my favourite hardware supplier for that Geforce 4 so I can test it out (poor computer has no video card) I've been waiting a long time for such an addon. The best I've done is an original C7. Hooray! *claps*

Realistic or compliant to the OFP-M16 statistics<span id='postcolor'> Realistic. I don't know what the RPM is in OFP but in real life it hovers around 750 rounds per minute. If the weapon is dirty it can be as low as 500, that happened to me once and it sounded really funny. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">BTW, I'm currently working on the FN MAG.<span id='postcolor'> Excellent. If you ever get a beta version made, feel free to send it to me and I could give you some feedback. I've fired thousands of rounds from that thing IRL, and would love to see a decent one in the game. Just one more thing with the Elcan sight: You know the two parrallel lines to the right of the stadia line? The one on top of the other? Well, those are used for estimating distance. If a standing man fits between the two lines from his waist to the top of his head, the distance is roughly 300m. If the man fits between the two lines from head to toe, the distance is then roughly 600m. I did some testing in the mission editor and I found that a man standing at 100m would fit from his knees to his head at only 100m. Maybe when you remove the burst you can move those two parrallel lines closer together, or make the whole reticle smaller? </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Wow, I need to find some book or something, you weapon guys are hardcore. <span id='postcolor'> Naaa, I paid attention to my instructors. Matthijs 40 Posted September 26, 2002 Ah wow, all kinds of things I wanted to know. Maybe the next version of the C7A1 addon will be a little later than next week. Good news is that I will take all information and try to incorporate it into the weapons. According to a fellow modeller, it should be possible to make parts of the riticle glow in the dark! Assault(Can), please contact me by mail. I'd like to use you as a consultant.
