tactical 0 Posted September 20, 2002 I love OFP and won't think for a minute that there's a better combat fps out there. But I'm thinking about getting Ghost Recon. If you have it already, is it worth it? ARe the mods for it any good?
Die Alive 0 Posted September 20, 2002 I'll sell you mine, it was used once, I still have the box and all. Actually, when OFP Game of the Year comes out, I'll trade my GR, the Sims, and a few other oldish games to this computer store that buys used games and resells them. And with the money I get, I'll buy GOTY OFP. -=Die Alive=-
Major Fubar 0 Posted September 20, 2002 No, really? You really couldn't find this topic here already? Really?
DarkLight 0 Posted September 20, 2002 Try the demo, read some reviews, go to a video store and rent the game for a day. And when you like it, BUY IT!
dayglow 2 Posted September 20, 2002 I would recomend it. I really like GR. Remember it is different from OFP. OFP is a great simulator of what it is like to be part of a combined arms force in a wide open battle. GR is about a small group of special forces doing clansdine operations. If you are a big OFP player it will take sometime to understand how to control you AI buddies within GR, but once you have it done the game is a lot of fun. tactical 0 Posted September 20, 2002 Sorry about that Major Fubar. Â I did check search and found some posts that discussed GR along with other topics. Â I was hoping to hear from the OFP crowd who also owned GR to get their opinion of it in one place. Â Â But, I guess that's why you're the Major and I'm just newbie:) Â

That was when I didn't have much money money because I was going to school and renting PC games was dirt cheap, something like $5 per week. I remeber renting games like Tomb Raider, C&C, StarCraft, and a bunch others that I don't remember now. And if I found a game that I liked alot, I would go ahead and buy it, seeing that a limited demo might not be enough to get a feel for the game, renting it was a better idea. I don't know if the store still rents PC games, or if it's against the law now, but it was fun playing a new game for a week every week back then. -=Die Alive=-
ralphwiggum 6 Posted September 21, 2002 Try demo first.
Jester983 0 Posted September 21, 2002 GR is okay IMO. I thought the demo was kinda short and cheap. Get the demo first. Than ask around and read reviews. Then think about getting it. Hope that helps.

I dunno about your country but here in Belgium you can go to some computer stores and they'll let you use a game for as long as you want. Of course you have to pay for it, one day costs about 3,5 euros i think, that's a bit less than 3,5 $ You can even get some games in our libraries (those games suck, they only give non violent games and stuff like that). Of course a lot of ppl to bad things, this way they get the game for only 3,5 euros I always try a game before i buy it, i don't buy a lot of pc games, but when i buy a game for my Ps2, i always go to one of those shops and play it for a while. In some shops you can rent a Xbox,GC or a ps2 too, but i haven't seen a lot of those shops yet...
