Just a heads up I've added a link to my public Bikey on the main page. It will bew included in all future updates for my mods too but you can get it therev now for the current version. apologies about not including it before, having never actually used them myself in any context i assumed a bisign and bikey were the same thing lol. Anyway its there now :P

hi burnes, i love your mods. this is the type of content we really need in arma 3. i see that you are going to work on a leopard. can you maybe make a Dutch version aswell?

edit: Also noticed that there seems to be a strange damage model for the Challenger. (not that I hope to see many blown!) it explodes, Sinks back 30 degrees into the ground and then when the blaze extinguishes it simply looks like a normal chally but part buried ?

I know bone errors are from arma 2 animations that have extra bones that arent in the arma 3 skeleton

while some of those will be fixed in the next version (the TI textures have not been added yet and some track texture errors are a result of those still being applied to the driver lod view that is being replaced with the proper 3d interior) many of them will not be fixed nor do i have any intention to do so. If they do not cause mission start problems (like some of the texture errors in the Abrams that will be fixed in the next version, which we ran with full servers in the 15th meu without any issues at all) I consider them low priority if not entirely unimportant. (trying to remove EVERY error from an arma mod would be impractical to imo, you havn't seen the list in the compiler log lol) so it's use or lack of use is up to you really.

Selfishly I make mods for my own use and enjoyment (this is why I don't get concerned over single player applications or Zeus compatibility very much) and if others get something out of it at the same time great.

Is it possible to have the open hatches action tied to the FFV Cargo seat you made, and the ramp action tied to the driver seat. As it stands you can look at the AAV from about any distance and open said hatches/ ramps

Progress on the FV510 Warrior IFV. I used Bohemia's A2 model as a starting point, but in order to make it accurate to reality almost everything had to be changed lol. Taken some time but i think it's starting to look right.

That's a shame Burnes, I understand (no expert mind) that the bones errors are caused by using A2 configs so could be very simply corrected really. Chairbourne or Kju have shown this is easily achievable with ports, let alone scratch builds.

And whilst a you say it's your mod to do what you will, we have successfully worked to eliminate as many errors from the mods we use, your mod spamming Bone errors, plus 15 others for example doing the same does cause us issues on the server and clients - we know this as it's brought 50+player sessions to their knees with very large RPTS files causing massive lag across the network.

That's a shame Burnes, I understand (no expert mind) that the bones errors are caused by using A2 configs so could be very simply corrected really. Chairbourne or Kju have shown this is easily achievable with ports, let alone scratch builds.

No the bone errors are caused by animation files (rtm's) from Arma 2 that use a different skeleton to that of arma 3. I currently am not expereinced enough at creating rtm files to make changes here.

but anyway as stated we used the abrams (which still has far more errors than the challenger) on the 15th MEU servers all the time with 70+ players without issue. Granted there was no use of bikeys there, i don;t see why a realism unit would need them at all, but still i'm much more inclined to believe the evidence from arma's leading realism unit that i experienced first hand than any other reports on the performance hit

Yeah i've given those model additions to Chairborne already so they will probably be a part of a future release from him. I'm going to be modelling the LAV-AT turret as well

I'm finding it difficult to keep up - daily updates for heaven's sake!:)

with regard to the skeleton report spam the solution is very easy - you just have to put this model.cfg

into a folder with your .rtm's from A2

worked like a charm for me anywho!

hi burnes, i love your mods. this is the type of content we really need in arma 3. i see that you are going to work on a leopard. can you maybe make a Dutch version aswell?

So are You going to add Leo2A5\A6\A7? I'm asking because The only tank used by Germany, Netherlands, Denmark are Leo2A5\A6. In this year german forces will get brand new A7 not Leopard Revolution.

Yeah unsure at this time i'll have to get Steel Beasts up again to see what's gonna be worthwhile. Don't worry it won't be the revolution anymore. I only originally chose that because the Leopards without that armour upgrade are the ugliest tanks ever designed (in my opinion :p) but obviously my own personal tastes on it shouldn't be a factor, rather it should be those who will end up using it who tell me the most appropriate model for modern forces who have adopted it.

Agreed! Although the Leopard 2A4 was in SA in 2010 and it performed amazingly, not really a piece of kit for the african bush in my opinion but overall a brilliant tank.

It's nice to see what you managed to do with my old ARMA 2 lcac model Burnes :) i really like how you remodelled the cockpit (mine was limited to say the least ^^ before i stopped back then and released the wip, i was hitting arma 2's editor polycount limit :p)

A quick note if you have difficulties with trying to load vehicles through the rear ramp - i guess you could extend a bit only the geometry model + roadway lods of the ramp and slightly rotate it - so the angle is softer for vehicles when the ramp is deployed.

(That is, if they are still in use in arma 3 - was out of the modding loop for some time :p)

Regarding the 3d model of the lcac skirt animations, i had planned to create model animations on the horizontally lined vertex points as the selection. (The geometry don't need to be altered) an example for the skirt, would be to add as a rotation or a translation all the points lined up on the same horizontal line on the side of the lcac skirt, and translate / rotate them upwards. (Each 'line' of horizontal points of the skirt would have done a similar rotation with more or less angle, flattening the 3d model through the anim. For the front upper part of the skirt (the one which was in front of the ramp) i would have moved / translated them downwards.

In the hopes that it can help you a bit for improving the lcac :)

Thought you might like to see the early work on the HMS Bulwark LPD. Still a long way to go and a lot of detail to add...

First let me say thank you for creating such an amazing model for me to start from, that was some amazing work :)

I can see what you mean about using the vertex rings around the skirt and i'll certainly give it a go for the next version. I'm planning a ound of updates for all the US vehicles very soon with new textures and bug fixes but one of the main areas i wanted to do was a proper set of textures for the LCAC so i think attempting a decent deflation animation might just finish off the effect nicely :)

Haha well time permitting i'm happy to add anything people wan;t to the list. I'm doing the South African Oliphant so I don't see why we couldn't have all of the Leopards (I believe they are all currently in use by someone right?)

Then I will definately be happy to add faction variants (I may need advice on the particulars like camo patterns and markings from you guys though)
