[Fix] RWR warning issue fixed on HAFM jets

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

As Aplion has stopped development on the HAFM mods for now, and has made this open source, I'm happy to announce that with the help of Corporal_Lib[bR] and Raid, the HAFM jet RWR warning on the radar, and beeping noise has been fixed. You can download the fixed pbo below :)

Here is a mission on steamworkshop showcasing all HAFM planes fixed by this addon -> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=278117526

Aplion has done an outstanding work with his HAFM mod and A2 porting, a pitty he quit modding, but I hope he´ll change his mind in a near future and proceed his great work!

(Just a little background: the last version of HAFM air had all airplanes (A-7/F-4E/F-16C/Mirage 2000) without any RWR warnings, rendering the jets helpless against AA and air missiles - here´s the first report of those issues; Aplion quit modding and left his previous work as open shource, so if anyone was willing to fix, he would allow that... on a post at USAF mod, Raid suggest the part of the config which should be altered/correct in order to make all RWR work, so talking privately with Drunkenjawa, I´ve "inspired" him to apply those changes and make the airplanes functional again!

We wanted to share this fix with the community, as there´s plenty missions using those jets with compromissed gameplay, so everyone would gain with this fix! We respect Aplion´s and every other modder work, so it is in no way a pledge of ownership, just a third party correction of a broken addon... if Aplion get back to modding (what we hope so, someday), he can use Drunkenjawa fix and develop it further as he see fit =)

All models, textures and original code is credited to Aplion. If this fix is not in accordance with his will, may him or any moderator ask and we should erase this - and take this link from that showcase mission )

cheers!

Very well worded Corporal_Lib, I should have just got you to make the announcement on my behalf lol. This will also make these planes viable for PVP now too, I really hope Aplion gets back into modding too, these are great planes! :D Also, hopefully I posted this in the right forum!

I think this open source thing only relates to Aplions Arma 2 ports, not his own work.

In his post where he released the source files you only find his Arma 2 ports, not his other work (like these planes) so you can not assume that is open source as well.

PS: PM read but I am not a moderator here. Also in your PM you were not very informative and left me guessing. Since I am sick I could not set myself to reply...... sorry!

Drunkenjawa, PM R0adki11 or Alex72, If they have any reservations about this fix, delete the link ´till Aplion maniphests his will... Sorry Foxhound, your name was the first to pop in my mind as a suggestion of Mods in this section! =)

And yeah, you´re right, that thread only lists A2 ports as open sources, I haven´t seen specific licenses (CC, APL, etc) marks on his other threads so were on a grey zone, if the mods consider this fix a potential infringement, we´ll delete the link and wait for some word of Aplion! Sorry for the maybe wrong assumption!

cheers!

one can always create a new pbo with config fixes for another addon

only if you modify another person's data itself (mainly model, texture, sound, terrain and such) copyright and permissions are relevant

Sweet as, will PM those guys Corp, thanks :)

Foxhound yeah, sorry, I really have no idea in terms of what is and isn't allowed round here which is why I sent you the message hehe. I realise you were responsible for armaholic stuff, and didn't know where you guys would want it hosted, or even if you needed it hosted anywhere specific. Or even if that mattered? Like I said, don't want to step on any toes. I tried to PM Aplion but I couldn't. Just changed a few numbers in the config, now it's working as I would assume Aplion intended and figured everyone who uses the HAFM jets mod would want this as well. Just a fan of a great mod given inspiration as to where to look to get it fixed, by another fan of this great mod, lol.
