Make sure you have your LOD settings turned to low, 0.005 offers best quality in models. Also turn geometry performance to max (54308).
Placebo 29 Posted July 10, 2002 Yeah the changing trees and bushes always annoyed me too, iirc it's the fps slider, shove it all the way over to the lowest fps number and the trees should stop changing
N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted July 10, 2002 Thanks placebo, unfortunately setting it to 7-13 slows my game quite much.
Placebo 29 Posted July 10, 2002 Well it depends how high you put the other stuff, setting it to 7fps or whatever the far left is doesn't mean you'll only run at 7fps, just means dependant on other things it may go as low as that, with the settings I use I find that sliding it to the far left doesn't decrease fps too much
Dionysos 0 Posted July 10, 2002 I have my LOD for objects and shadows both set at 0.005. Anyway how can Codemasters get away with tricking people with the false graphical imagery on the box without a risk of being sued a fortune for "misleading" them? Are you sure that these images are false?
y0ungb0b 0 Posted July 10, 2002 Its an old trick. Remember 8-bit games? If it was an arcade conversion, the publishers always stuck screenshots from the arcade or 16-bit versions on the back ...
N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted July 10, 2002 In every game box the screenshots look very good because the pictures are so small. Take a look at the old C&C package or Tiberian Sun package, those screenies look very good but when you load up the game it doesn't look so good. But this what can be found from the Resistance box is very lame trick from CM .

Placebo 29 Posted July 10, 2002 Computer Generated Imagery or something, basically I mean the computer renders, if you have MOHAA then it's the intro movie, similar to that is what they showed for the tv commercial.
JJonth Cheeky Monkey 1 Posted July 10, 2002 on the back of the OFP CWC box it does say "actual in game sceenshots" and the Night Vision is not like that, there is no badge on the side of the cobra. BTW what does auto drop down actually do

cutter 0 Posted July 12, 2002 I hope this is not off topic, but what is LOD and how do I change it? I have viewing distance and terrain detail sliders but nothing that says or could be abbreviated to LOD. I started reading the post because I have the same issues as the original poster. My machine should be up to the task but how do you correct this. Or is this just how OFP looks and everyone gets blurry runways after 50m.

For an OFP tweaking guide. There it says how to adjust the LOD (Level Of Detail)
cutter 0 Posted July 12, 2002 Thanks, I'm just getting lazy. I found the LOD settings shortly after I posted that when launching OFP:R. Just shoot me, I deserve it
