bravo93 37 Posted May 8, 2014 My problem's exactly what the title says. I've been getting pretty poor FPS in multiplayer and I'd love to boost it up an extra 10 frames or so. I'm kind of wondering is it a problem on my end or is it just the game? In single player even with loads of scripts and dozens of ai running around it's soo much better. I've noticed Altis is where the biggest problems occur. Stratis and the A3MP maps run a lot better. Anyway here's my specs: CPU - Intel i7 2600k turbo'd @3.8 GHz GPU - Nvidia GTX 780 RAM - 12 GB OS - Windows 7 Harddrive space - around 1TB In multiplayer, typically my FPS hovers around 25-35 when I'm standing on the airfield or in a field and there's no much going on but in a town with a bit of gunfire and that's gone right down to 10-20. Singeplayer I'm getting between 60-80 pretty much all the time. Perhaps 35-40 in an intense firefight with stuff blowing up. Personally I get frustrated with 15-20 FPS and it's just not enjoyable. Visually I have almost everything on ultra however view distance isn't very high (usually 500-1500). (I like what I can see looking nice and don't really care if that's only 1000 metres). In singpplayer I put it on like 3000 and of course get better FPS. The server I usually play I'm told is about as good as you can get. I think server FPS is always like 60 and the mission's are only up for 3 hours twice a week so it's no Altis life job where it slowly deteriorates to the point everyone has like 5 FPS. That said there are usually 60-80 guys on the server and we use a few mods. To be honest vanilla servers give me exactly the same problems if not worse so don't think the numbers or mods have much to do with it. Any help is always much appreciated :)
Sneakson 1 Posted May 8, 2014 Mhm... varies between servers and missions is all I've heard. Nothing wrong with your specs. Some have a jolly good time and others are at a standstill basically.
Vigil Vindex 64 Posted May 9, 2014 Seems to be that when the server gets busy it limits fps on clients, so say when there is AI and the pathfinding slows down the server, or when you have no AI but some SQF scripts running on the server the client FPS drops. I think this is a design problem somewhere between the process threading and network code. Some people have made progress by making use of a headless client which is dedicated to running the AI on it and that keeps the server from slowing down, but BIS haven't been quick in supporting this work around and it is still in the process of being developed by community members. Rath 10 Posted May 10, 2014 Server FPS is always 60? Who told you that :) Max is 50 for servers, and there are other important stats like CPS. I've found that for Multiplayer, most of the FPS issues are caused by the mission file or too many ai - not so much the server or your system.
