Kommiekat 11 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Proxy Wars: Tropica Island By Kommiekat Version 1.0 Location: Tropica Island (Off the African West Coast) Game version: ARMA2: Combined Operations Game Mode: Single player Campaign Inspired by events that could and may have happened by the C.I.A. Description: "A proxy war is a conflict where third parties fight on the behalf of more powerful parties. Proxy wars have also been fought alongside full-scale conflicts. It is almost impossible to have a pure proxy war, as the groups fighting for a certain nation usually have their own interests, which can diverge from those of their patron. Typically proxy wars function best during cold wars, as they become a necessity in conducting armed conflict between at least two belligerents while continuing cold warfare.." mathias_eichinger 64 Posted June 1, 2016 Test for the Mission #1: China's Interest Overview Nice picture and text. Loading screen Yummy! Briefing Very well written briefing with plenty of info neatly structured into sections Mission Night time air assault on an industrial area with mildly difficult fighting, serves well as a campaign introduction. BUT the unnecessary addition of clearing the shantytown adds pure tedium and also the mission never ends there (most likely a single enemy being stuck in this maze of buildings and dirt). Cinematics These are missing and should be added to improve immersion. On with Mission #2: Gathering Intel Overview The pic is the same as in the last mission, but too cropped. Loading screen and Briefing Both have the same high standard as in the first mission. Cinematics Missing from mission #2 as well. Gameplay Rather challenging to clear a compound, since the enemy has a good field of fire - well made. There is a Laptop to log on, but the relevant script is missing. Luckily, the pickup of some other documents ends this mission.
mathias_eichinger 64 Posted June 11, 2016 Mission #3: pwt3 Overview Nice schematic of a chinese ship, but what kind of a mission name is that? Where is some short descriptive text to go with the pic? Loading screen and Briefing Much information, but I would like to have had the information about the map-click missile strike beforehand. Cinematics Still missing and should be added. Gameplay Rather challenging in the village down in the valley and you really had to avoid the patrols to avoid being overwhelmed. I liked it alot.
