ColdShine 0 Posted September 9, 2002 Yet another lurker borrowing when he needs something he can't find anywhere... The topic title says it all. I'm making an entire campaign on Everon (6 missions on paper, first one almost working) with a very realistic plot. I want the Russians to have some more variety of weapons, as I got stuffed with PK, AK74 & 47 (Bizon is ok, but that's just 1 more wpn... ). So, what are the most-widely used add-ons with russian weapons? Is there any more weapon by the AK? I've found an huge collection of weapons from H&K, but the game gives the HK-MP5 to NATO... so I can't make a manufacturer provide 2 opposite sides can't I? RED 0 Posted September 9, 2002 Keg has made a very good Russian weapon pack take a look at: http://kyllikki.tiimipeli.net/addons.php RED
theavonlady 2 Posted September 9, 2002 If the campaign is so good (and it better be! ), how about not using any unofficial addons altogether?
Major Fubar 0 Posted September 9, 2002 I am a firm believer that good addons can add a lot to a mission, but maybe do an addon & an addon-free version, as some people just don't like unofficial addons... Keg's weapons pack is great, so is Norsu's Groza pack...
ColdShine 0 Posted September 9, 2002 Thanks for your comments men! I know many people doesn't like unofficial add-ons (I'm one of them), but I do really need more weapons, as NATO will be involved very little in this campaign. Basically, it's only Russians vs. Resistance. And since most of the Res new weapons are for NATO, I think I should not use them for consistancy with the plot of the campaign. Can you see my point now? Or do you still think I should do two separate versions of the campaign?

It is the cherry on the cake sometimes. In some missions it s just not possible ( or it s just not right ) to have NATO vs Russia. Also in this day and age it s more likely to be NATO/Terrorists that s also the way it is right now. The days the Russia was the badguy are long gone. PS : i know this is set in 1985 but mission makers get inspired more by current conflicts or movies for their missions. Cheers

It's fast to download and easy to integrate. I can't say the same for HKpack. Its load is too much, I risk many players not to play my campaign just because the add-ons it requires are too large/slow to download. Thx again ppl!

ColdShine 0 Posted September 9, 2002 That's great. The Uzi is one of the weapons I hoped I could use. I'll think of it as the anti-HK-MP5. As for the G3, I still think I'm not going to use it. Althrough I do know nothing about its technical data, I think it's too similar to the Bizon. In the RussianPack I've found something of huge value , that is some Resistance weapons! It seems like ne1 wants to create weapons for the poor old guerrila, only NATO & Russia.
Demagor 0 Posted September 9, 2002 Colshine... there's a nice Soviet heavy-caliber sniper rifle out there. Â Here's some information on the real weapon, while below you'll find the link to the weapon for OFP. Â Hope that helps, and drop us (at least me) a line once you've got your campaign(s) done! V-94 Caliber: 12.7 x 108mm Operation: Gas Feed Device: 5 Round Detachable Box Magazine Sights: Telescopic Weight: 11 kg The V-94 provides Russian snipers with an effective long range anti-material rifle. The V-94 fires a heavy 12.7x108mm shell that can pierce the skin of most lightly armoured vehicles in operation and destroy other light targets, such as communications equipment, artillery and grounded aircraft. The V-94 is capable of engaging targets up to and possibly over 2 kilometers. It is equipped with a powerful 13x60 magnification PSO optical sight. The weapon is semi-automatic and fires from a detatchable five-round box magazine. Though very heavy, this weapon gives spetsnaz units the capacity to engage heavier targets at longer ranges and has proved to be a very useful tool in the hands of an experienced sniper. Here's where it can be found... Soviet V-94 for OFP ...enjoy!
ColdShine 0 Posted September 9, 2002 It seems to be a great weapon, very suitable for top-rank Russian officers (there are 2 in one of the missions...). Tomorrow morning I'll give it a try (now it's midnight here in Italy), and I'll let you know if I really need it to be in my campaign. Thanks for the precious resource! ColdShine 0 Posted September 10, 2002 Mmmh... I'm sorry, but it seems the V94 has a bug in the muzzle flash, its missing the magazine gear icon and there's the name in the weapon gear icon (non-standard... you know, I'm a standard maniac ). Please can someone get me in touch with Kegetys? I've sent him (her?) an e-mail 2 days ago, but he's still not replying. Did he change e-mail address recently?
