( Got message about porting to DayZ the answer is the files they was given out to the Hole BIS community to learn and make things with be that A2/A3 or even DayZ standalone any BIS product that you can use the tools with these files are free for all the use and lean and make things with. good luck on porting and making maps.)

 

Hello my Name is falcos over the last few months I have been working with Sirel76 or El76 on Bis forums on the applegate map to finish what he started. as it turns out there are number of community that wish to use this map but do not have the source code or any idea where to get it and so I made it my mission the carry on the work by Sirel76 and finish his map as he has no long the time to do this I would like to offer the code and the map to any and all who wish to take part in helping this map make its way the to beening complete and available to all to enjoy his work. I have full permission to edit them and share as I like. however the only thing I and the owner ask is that you credit them give credits to opteryx for the release of the terrain data, as this belongs to the copyrights of the terrain source. and Sirel76 or El76 for making the object pack. you do not need to credit myself.

Why am I uploading this and making this Post?
there are number of community I and Sirel76 given the code to and in order to give credit to the makers of the make I make this post for people to see in the case that a community try to say they made it first the map and city was made for A2L RPG which has closed and so Sirel76 gave up working on the map which was a shame as it is a nice map and a lot of work has gone into it. and would be a shame that the arma community did not get to try this.

I am in the middle of uploaded the Maps Code to a dropbox and Video and photos will be up soon showing the work that has been done.

I was asked yesterday about my stance on Arma 3 & Dayz Server Monetization Rules with this addon as well as its code and are people allowed to use it on a monetization server?

 

Sorry to guy who point this out to me I can't spell or remember your name but thank you for pointing this out to me as it was never a thing in A2 days so here goes.

 

1. I have no issue with people using the items/addons/code in or on a monetization server.

2. Please follow bohemia.net/monetization rules.

3. No, I do not wish to take any money from you or the ArmA community who use this on their servers. (Please stop asking or try to give me money) <--- never ever thought that would happen lol

 

P.s Its been almost Five! years since this very buggy and badly optimise map A2 was given out I can not believe people are still using it and playing on it wow Kinda Means a lot that people are enjoying E76 work. That being said did anyone take the stuff and make a whole new map or learn to make maps from this as that was the point in the project was to get players into making new maps and such lol or did E76, opterx, and myself do too good of a job on this map hahaha.

@Falcos I've been working on creating and researching how to create and add buildings/houses for ArmA for quite some time now, and just recently learned the right way to create UV-Maps as well as practicing texture work. I'm very interested in helping out with this project, I can add interiors, create new types of houses/building, and would like to start practicing in creating furnishings. I was wondering if you could upload the "model.cfg" for the different objects/buildings and etc. It's a little hard to be able to update everything that has animations or needs to be animated without the "model.cfg" for them.

thanks for looking into this man any and all the files iv been given have now been uploaded ill try and look for the model.cfg if not ill ask E76 for it and get it posted here as soon as i can but as i said all the files to work on the project are here. you could even remake the hole city if you wished.

@Falcos and El76 thanks, I'll see what I can do. I have to say that this mod has professional texturing and modeling that has been done, to bad I'm not a texture artist though, but I can work on all the clipping and missing interior stuff.

Downloaded some of these files and it appears it broke a lot of stuff, not sure why. The cube no longer spins, some doors wont work, signs in middle of road, and floating buildings. Although, we have the buildings we didn't have before there are a lot of out of place stuff now that we really cannot fix.

Not sure how you managed that I know a few building are not finished when the code was given out and for the Cube I can not think why this would not spin id need to take a look at what your edit. as for doors they should be working as well.

@talamander So sorry iv fixed it for you now man Seen what you done and where things went wrong my fault for not saying where to place stuff.

Updated:new community using the WIP MAP list is getting bigger for both A2 and even A3.

I must Stress this map is made for A2 while it is Possible to play In A3 with a MOD pack the map is bulit for A2 any issue you have with A3 I can not be held responsible for.

that being said I will try my best to Help you out if I can.

@Darkhorse 1-6 iv seen the make arma project and one issue that sticks out is rule that say you cant enter a addon that was started be for he comp start date. as for monetary gain am unsure how you be allowed to use it as this is a community project for people who wish to learn modding and help make a map for the community.

I have all ready sent this post to the people running that comp and told them about this project.

also sorry for any late response my mine pc that i work on is down and being worked on.

@Schultzit am loving the work you are doing on this project keep it up man.

Thanks man. (Also, because I'm unsure if you misinterpreted my post, I'm not trying to use his work in MANW. I just noticed that killernetworkgaming (One of the links you have in your first post) was using the models, indeed had copied and pasted the entire applegate city, onto their custom map, claiming it as their own work, entered to win MANW.)

Are you using this on ArmA 3? if so you will need to use AIA Mod or A3MP as this mod is made for A2 there a few people working hard to port it to A3.

Falcos, Yes indeed arma 3. So you are saying i need another mod installed into my mod for this to work. Since i have my own project where i already have some addons in it i should get a hold of that AIA mod? I seen Arma 3 Life using this map i mean to be honest i have no idea how this would work, Do i put everything into my main collection of addons?
