True, the same thing would happen if i try to use the BWmod missions. I don't mind, i only want to play my own missions using the new units and weapons. I also modified UCE's Russian Federation Units to use your weapons and the groza pack someone released biggrin.gif

I run 1.46 and was really dissapointed that I couldn't use the C-130. Especially when I was looking a while for a transport plane (I guess this is a transport plane, right?) Boohoo sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif<span id='postcolor'>

You should teach yourself how to edit addons so you can use them in 1.46.

It's not that hard (only took me a few hours, really) and all the tools required a free to download.

It's not really fair to expect addon makers to make their addons backward compatible if they don't want to...especially when you can fix the problem yourself.

Well, you should get DePBO and StuffPBO to uncompress and recompress PBO files, the rest is all in editing the config.cpp file. You can do this with Notepad or any other text editor, but I've got MS Visual Studio on my PC, so I do it through Visual C++.

As for tutorials, I would recommend www.ofpec.com, but since they changed servers I haven't checked out the tute section yet.

Also, try looking through various posts here about config.cpp editing, muzzle flash bug etc.

Tried to change the version 1.70 to 1.46 in config.cpp. I could choose the plane in the editor but when previewing it locks up. sad.gif

Here's the lowdown:

1.46 Sucks

1.75 Rocks

I like busses. And motorcycles. And sounds that suck slightly less than original ofp equivalents. And nicer graphics. And netcode that doesn't crash my computer every chance it gets.

I also like kitties, but that's the canadian forces shining through.

It's the nature of the beast...upgrades come out, old versions don't get supported...

I feel sorry for those who can't get or can't afford Resistance, but we must move forward.

What about when OFP2 comes out, will you still expect addon makers to support 1.46 and 1.75?

OFP 2 would be a different game. Resistance is an expansion, not a new game.

Anyway. If someone wants help making an addon work with 1.46, send me a pm. Remember, i can't make pistols work, and i won't give you the cpp's of big packs like the bwmod demo or the hk pack (that ones are a bitch to convert, i'm still trying to make the hk pack work). If you want to make that ones work, start converting little addons and learn to do it yourself biggrin.gif

In many ways, Resistance is OFP2... tounge.gif

New netcode, new weapon class (pistol), new island, new weapons, new vehicles...

Not even close.

What you listed is the most common ingredients in an expansion.

A new game would be:

Completely new code and completely new content. Full stop.

LoL, maybe he has disabled images in posts (including smiles) and didn't see your tounge.gif there.
