Difference between Arma2, Arma 2 DayZ mod, Arma 2 OA

Hello

I have the following ArmA games on my steam account.

-Arma 2

-Arma 2: DayZ Mod

-Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

-Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta ( Not worried about this one )

-Arma: Tactics

-Arma: Gold Edition

What is the difference between the Arma 2 games and which one should i play? I would like to use the version that has all existing previous Arma 2 content and all new Arma 2 content. I am assuming Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead is the best one to play?

And what is the difference between Arma Tactics and Arma Gold Edition ? I would also like to install the best Arma 1 game, Are they 2 different Arma games or does the Gold edition have all existing and new Arma 1 game content?

Arma 2 and Arma2OA work together, they Are called Arma2 Combined Operations, so they will have the full arma 2 Content even with the DLCs

the DLC units however have reduced texture sizes, so they will look really blurry.

The DayZ mod is, as the titles implies, a mod wich is free anyways. it is not the standalone.

So do i have to install Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA or does Arma 2 OA already have everything? If i have to install both Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA how do i launch the Arma 2 Combined Operations thing? What does the DayZ mod apply to the game?

and do you have any information on Arma 1 as in my OP ?

install them both then run OA it should let you run as combined operations from there if you have them both installed

Arma 1 and tactics are different games, arma 1 is the predecessor to arma 2 while arma tactics is a turn based squad strategy game similar to xcom and jagged alliance etc

Alright sweet :D, I will be sure to install both 2 and 2 OA so i can run Combined Operations :)

Alright, It seems Arma 1 would be the one for me, Tactics doesn't sound appealing to me in any way. I don't care much for strategy games.

When you install arma 2 and Arma 2OA be sure to run the arma 2 first at least once, then quit it and run Arma 2 OA.

Dayz is an Multiplayer online zombie survival sandbox mod for ARMA 2 CO. I recommend you to download a dayZ commander if you want to play Dayz.

I allso Strongly reccomend you to get Play with six. it makes playing ARMA 2 CO lot easier online. Lot of servers for Arma 2 require mods to play on thees servers, and searching downloading installing and running thos mods manually can be pain in the ass. Play with six will download install and run all the mods needed for certain srver automaticaly when you choose the server from the list, and press synchronise button. After it synchronise youll just press join server button and you can play.

I seem to be having difficulty trying to launch Arma 2 Combined Operations.

I installed Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA but i had ran OA first when i was still downloading Arma 2 but then i ran Arma 2 seperatly and even if i select Arma 2 as an expansion pack and restart it it will not start in Arma 2 Combined Operations.

How do i launch Arma 2 CO ?
