jandrews 116 Posted January 16, 2014 Hello, am giving serious consideration to renting a Arma 3 server. What should I look at? I have never rented a gaming server before and wonder what others like? whats a better server to use? what to stay away from? is there a thread for dos/donts when renting a server? my clan uses artofwar servers, they are ok, some times not so good. thanks for any input. trnapster 12 Posted January 16, 2014 It depends on your region but if you want to set up a server in europe there isn't anything better than a root server from hetzner.de We are running 2-3 50 slot Arma3 server + 2x TS3 Server + Website on one root server without any problems Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
SavageCDN 231 Posted January 16, 2014 While I agree with above poster and we too use Hetzner... if you are not familiar with running a server (remotely) and setting up game services then I'd recommend a slot server instead (provider does all the work to setup the system and games). Cheaper and usually less powerful than controlling your own box.. but much simpler. It may also depend on what type of Arma you plan to run - DayZ and similar mods that require a database backend are more complicated to setup and not all slot server providers will offer such a thing.
