Can't save campaign progress

Why is it that the SAVE option is greyed out?

SPOILERS:

I'm very early in the campaign and after regrouping with survivors and walking for a few minutes I wanted to save in case I died but couldn't. I then died and had to do all that walking again... WTH? Why can't I save (other than save and exit)?

In options (difficulty?) you need to enable unlimited save. It defaults to off now.

I think normal or whatever the default is. Why is that even an option, it should always be enabled?

Default is one save slot for the mission. Similar system to the old OFP...nothing wrong about that, especially if you can enable unlimited saving.

I think it might work quite well, given the mission lenght and frequent autosaves. The problem right now is unbalanced difficulty caused by weird AI, annoying damage system and terrible mission design, so saving more often can be usefull. Hopefully they will iron out all the bugs and rough edges, because playing with limited saves is always more tense and atmospheric than having the ability to save your progress all the time.

I agree, just beat the campaign but like you said, there are annoyances that occur like cheap deaths that make it frustrating to lose progress.

I'm having the same problem with editor missions I saved to my Single Missions. I even enabled the Unlimited Saves option. Is there anything else I can do?

Here I can't save/load any mission, no matter if it's from steam, downloaded, campaign, or editor. Checked the integrity of files and with vanilla.

Problem solved, in my case was the mod "@A3MP - ArmA 3 Map Pack"
