This is a question. I am curious as to which special forces group has this sort of attire.

SWAT isn't a military service.

I though we looked like that group. tounge.gif

That's hard to answer. Just because it's OFP doesn't mean that the uniform is actually from police SWAT teams.

It could be anything.

Actually i believe the Marines have a SWAT team.

SWAT = Special Weapons and Tactics. You hear about them working with police than you do the military. But as far as i know the marines have a SWAT team.

Maybe but it isn't an armed service, just a part of one. A little pedantic I know. biggrin.gif

I think the picture is just of a generic CT operator.

Could be, but he has a badge on his arm that could reveal something if you could get a close up of it.

Not to mention the CQB specialty and yeah they do have SWAT teams but I'm not sure if those are FAST teams also. Maybe E6Hotel can clear this up

There are three types of USMC units with CQB capabilities:

1) Force Recon direct action platoons (DAPs) and their "Trailer" security elements (infantry platoons specially trained & equipped for CQB).

2) Marine Corps Security Force commands including the FAST Companies (where I once made my humble living as a CQB shooter/Designated Marksman)

3) Military Police Special Reaction Teams (SRTs), which are the Marine Corps version of civilian SWAT teams.

edit 1: I don't recognize the shoulder patch, though. Is it possible to get a better view?

edit 2: It COULD be the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion insignia but it's tough to tell:

MCSF Bn insignia

In any case, we used gas masks instead of balaclavas, and our MP5's didn't have integral silencers.

it's obviously a special operator, regardless of what kind, due to the gear he's wearing and equipment he has. does it really matter what kind? they all wear similar stuff anyway... i mean unless you're writing a book about it, just admire the cool pic and quit worrying about its accuracy biggrin.gif
