lexx 1363 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Hi Folks! After Evac Convoy, here comes my second released CSAT mission: Description: In Hornet Nest, you are taking over the role of the CSAT Para-Trooper Sgt. Omid Nazari. Your mission objective is to free the village Abdera of local guerrillas, who are growing in strength more and more, with each passing day. No additional addons are required for this mission. Situation: The local guerrillas in Altis’ north west mountain area are growing in strength and their morale is good. With each passing day they get stronger and more organized. We can not allow this to continue. Viper-Blue will attack and drive away the enemy forces in Galati, while Viper-Red parachutes over the mountains in the north and clears the village Abdera of all rebels. Close air support is available after Hydra has dropped off Viper-Red. NOTE: I am still looking for people who can speak Farsi/Persian and help me get the voice over done. Any help is appreciated, really! Links: Mission at Steam Workshop Mission information and stuff at my website Edited November 21, 2013 by Lexx
Kommiekat 11 Posted November 19, 2013 First, nice to see another SP mission! Second, nice to see a "bad-guy" mission! Thanks
lexx 1363 Posted November 19, 2013 Yeah, I actually like CSAT a lot more than the NATO faction. Simply because it is finally something more or less new and refreshing. I really hope that BIS won't turn them into your generic bad-guy faction with the official campaign. I think the concept of them can work a lot stronger and less cliche than a "hurr durr, world domination u ar mine!" motivation. Also I seriously hope to see a official CSAT campaign from BIS at some point. @SP: While I could see my missions working in a coop enviroment, I am not going to crowbar multiplayer into them. I think they work a lot better as plain singleplayer content (besides, I am mainly only playing sp myself anyway). So yeah... Yay to sp missions! :) I've got some more CSAT-related mission ideas plotted out already and hope to transform them into some fun missions. Maybe I'll even turn them into a small campaign or something like that. /Edit: And by the way. Good to see a comment on a sp mission thread for once. :> I've already started to assume that nobody is really interested in sp content at all.
Kommiekat 11 Posted November 22, 2013 Yeah, I see what you mean. Most all my missions from Arma 2 are the VME_PLA Chinese or something else non-US or Nato. I was surprised to see from the BIS Camp that the Greeks are the bad guys. That was a twist. Hopefully BIS will introduce the Chinese as some baddies. Kommiekat 11 Posted November 22, 2013 My only suggestion so far, it to get rid of the NVG's. Unnecessary for this mission. Was thinking of your insertion method. Not sure yet, but I'd maybe suggest to insert farther away. Enemy is bound to have either spotted or heard the chopper coming in. Perhaps a straight forward insertion by landing? I really don't know. Just my thinking.......... Nice mission btw........has a nice twist to it.
mathias_eichinger 64 Posted September 2, 2014 This is a great mission, well balanced and quite on the difficult side if you are trying to get your squad through alive (which I did not succeed at). Helo CAS is very welcome, and I think a CSAT armored counterattack to react to the ambush further down towards Abdera would be a logical thing to have. But the mission is ok the way it is. Variable 322 Posted August 10, 2016 This mission still works and is a great one. BIS should take notes! The firefights were intense and the flow was engaging - paradrop in, fight the enemy, repel counter attack, link up with armored support. Thanks Lexx!
