fn_Quiksilver 1636 Posted October 22, 2013 There are some minor adjustments i see can be made: 1. Increase fire-rate. Can this be done within engine parameters? 2. Simulate spread/fire rate with minor splash/shrapnel (HE) effect. Compensate with reduced ammunition capacity. 3. Increase bullet damage and give us adjustable zero'ing. I want to be able to adjust from 100m-200m-300m-400m-500m for point of convergence to increase lethality. Right now, two parallel streams of fire are not effective against infantry targets. byku 13 Posted October 22, 2013 Just FYI you can destroy a tank now with 2000 rounds from ah9 :). It destroys stuff like crazy. (dev branch)
LoneCrow66 10 Posted October 22, 2013 I agree.. the buzzard's 20mm is totally ineffective for anything other than infrit which still takes about 50 we placed rounds. I've used the pawnee to try and shoot down other choppers and put hundreds of rounds into them without them going down. Into any armored vehicles.. forget it, and infantry ... just doesn't seem to kill them. Oh yeah last night I was hitting people with the slammer's anti tank round.. even within 1ft and direct hits they wouldn't die. HE will kill them if you can get really close but even then I see infantry survive totally unrealistic blasts when cover is concerned. Also AI should be running out of or into buildings if tank/aircraft fire is coming down on them. Why the hell would they stay out in the open?

It's enabled by default and most players don't even realize this.

The AH-9 Pawnee (in its current main-branch form) is extremely effective at taking down enemy (AI) helicopters, as long as you can avoid AA. Hint: Use the DARs
LoneCrow66 10 Posted October 23, 2013 Yeah I have taken down an enemy chopper with rockets before for sure. But the gun is ineffective even putting 500 rounds. You'd think one would eventually hit a vital spot in the rotor. I understand small arms fire woudn't bother some of them but some would actually damage and get into moving parts eventually causing trouble somewhere. As has been discussed earlier in this thread, the AH-9 minigun is still in development and unfinished.
Jammin 10 Posted October 23, 2013 got this working with this animate ["AddFLIR", 1]; http://img5.fotos-hochladen.net/uploads/2013102000003h82xv7adg.jpg (384 kB) So, I got the FLIR pod on the pawnee as you did, but what can you do with it? I dont see any screens in the pawnee or anyway to use FLIR.
fn_Quiksilver 1636 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) So, I got the FLIR pod on the pawnee as you did, but what can you do with it? I dont see any screens in the pawnee or anyway to use FLIR. I would imagine that would be delegated to the co-pilot/commander seat and not accessible by the pilot. A small commanders tablet/screen might have to be added to the existing instrument panel. There's an embriotic form of it in the MH-49 Mohawk, with the Sling-cam. One of the displays in the flight deck has PiP with a camera mounted on the underside of the aircraft facing downwards. When using the Tactical Glasses, they have that small display for one eye. I have seen that appear in my HUD to display the Sling-cam. ^ So right there is a fixed camera mounted on a helicopter that is viewable via small HUD display. Switching the camera to display IR, point forward, and have some zoom feature, would turn the AH-9 into a legitimate Year-2035 Light Reconaissance Helicopter. Miroslaw Kowalski 54 Posted October 24, 2013 You can add a not working screen with this animate ["AddScreen1", 1] also the FLIR isn't on a believable position because it spawns under the guns...and there's no holder for it :D
