Yep, user1 is me from my computer, HC_AI is the HC User running on the dedicated server, vts_x are spawned AI. Alpha 1-xx are the groups places for vts_x (spawned units) It seems both HC_AI and user1 are local on the same client ?? If I assume user1 is me, it is not possible as HC is running on a dedicated server, the one where the arma3server is also running. I made a test with mode 3, and the results are exactly the same, not working with HC, working without. I can post logs if you want to (In this case I'll put really full logs, hosted on a file hosting service). With HC, AI doesn't seem to hear bullets, you have to shoot them directly to make them react. Setup: pc1: locally hosted server, me as player pc2: HC on PC 1 besides me there were 2 more AI -> client log shows EH added for 3 units Created BluFor and RedFor AI on HC -> log shows EH added for all units local to HC Logs shows bullet detection on both systems as well, so bDetect is running at both systems. me shooting at Blufor -> green debug balls (ToDo: check why they just kept standing - they should go prone...) lordprimate 159 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) If i am reading your adjustments correctly you effectivly nullify the function. because everytime you look to see if the AI skill is higher or lower then their "original skill" you'll be resetting it to what it is currently.. which will be == not > , < ... I am still wrapping my head around it but from what i muster is there has to be a check somewhere in the main loop to check if the unit is "new" and after they are spawned then get their "skill" , Before it changes.. Im Green, but im on it.... it took me 5 seconds to think of the way. there has to be a isNull check for all the "skill" variables. and if the unit doesnt have a variable attached to it then one is created.. ill implement it now and push out another update. This default value is only returned by getVariable if the variable we are trying to access doesn't exists (e.g. a new unit, on which the variables have never been set). If the system would properly initialize every unit my adjustments would never be noticeable. But they aren't changing/"nullify" the function in any way if the unit has all variables properly set. :D edit: As a sideeffect the adjustment even takes care of setting the variables for unit's which never had them. Though it's definitely not the intended way of doing that. That should probably done in the main loop as you said. Nope was wrong there, forgot that the function only changes skills but doesn't use setVariable. edit2: Now I know what you meant. Yeah, regarding units, which never had their variables set (which would throw the script error) the function is "nullified". It just wouldn't throw a script error. But it doesn't change a thing for units which already have their variables set, they should work as always. It's just a dumb workaround and no fix, should've said that. I'm not sure, though. I do confirm this: I already experienced this issue too and solved it the same way :cool: It happens when you spawn AI with e.g. MCC who are under fire immediately. The scheduled process to check for new AI hasn't run for these new AI at that moment yet. I used the following : _currentaccuracy = _unit skill "aimingaccuracy"; _currentshake = _unit skill "aimingshake"; _currentcourage = _unit skill "courage"; _originalaccuracy = _unit getvariable ["tpwcas_originalaccuracy",_currentaccuracy]; _originalshake = _unit getvariable ["tpwcas_originalshake", _currentshake]; _originalcourage = _unit getvariable ["tpwcas_originalcourage", _currentcourage]; Only in case "tpwcas_originalaccuracy" variable has not been defined yet, the current value is used. We should indeed at that stage set the variable to e.g. _currentaccuracy to make sure the value is stored correctly and the batch process isn't picking up the already reduced values as oriiginal values. This needs some further investigation but should indeed not impact overall functionality of TPWCAS. If i put it in the _inc or the _dec skill files. it will be After the Original check was to be made (hence undefined varaible). putting the IF (isNill) in the main loop Ensures that if ANY AI are spawned during the mission they will be checked (withing one second due to the one second sleep in the main loop) for the variables and if (isNIll) it will assign then in the mainloop. Then when the script calls for a _dec or and _inc in skill the variables will be assigned.. That is what i thought is happening... Telling me to put the check in the _inc and the _dec skill.sqf's doesnt make sense to me, only because of my previous statement.. the main loop is where the unit gets the variable assigned. if the script is looking to the _dec or _inc skill.sqf then its looking for variables that should have been assigned already.. if i wait until it is with in those functions to check it is to late.. (at least from what i understand) I am saying this because i need to know more, I guess. to me it doesn't make sense, but, I am a total rookie... I am certainly not trying to contradict you, if you tell me that they way you stated is the best way and WILL work the SAME then by all means i just learned, and will make the appropriate changes!! Here are some clues that tell me that it's not a problem with spawned units : Test 1 : tpwcas mode 2, addon on server, HC and client, VTS beta 18 by L'Etranger 1) Spawned units aren't affected by the script 2) I shut down the HC, already spawned units are affected by tpwcas and debug mode works fine 3) Bug from VTS beta 18, it is no more possible to spawn units without HC. Players are affected by the script when HC is out. Test 2 : tpwcas mode 2, addon on server, HC and client, VTS beta 17 by L'Etranger 1) Exactly the same as test 1, doesn't work with HC, already spawned units are affected when HC is shut down 2) Spawned units (without HC) are also affected.
