Badgerboy 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I was just made aware of Bush's refusal to attend the Earth summit. Considering the US rejected the Kyoto agreements, I find it pretty strange that they don't give a rats ass about the planet. I wouldn't really mind, but the US produces a 1/4 of the Worlds pollution. Just goes to prove that the US elections are run by big business. Sigh...

Ruud van Nistelrooy 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I don't see why the world has to agree on such things, each country should introduce environment thingy's of its own and not what other people tell them too. USA as one of the big polluters of the world have to start cancelling all this ''we don't care'' stuff otherwise enjvironmentalists won't stop whinging at them and no dou8bt there are environmentalists whose whinging could actually do something productive

And that IS a world problem, because there isnt some magical barrier that encircles the US and keeps its pollution trapped in it's airspace and lands. And so long as Shrub buries his head in the sand and tries to pretend that pollution is just going to go away, then its the worlds responsibility to cry 'foul'
second_draw 0 Posted August 24, 2002 What is the objectove for earth summit? A round of coffees between world leaders discussing how nice it would be if we could get rid of pollution or a threatening to reduce popultion or we declare war? As you can see there is a big difference between the two ( ). So which one is bush hiding from?
Gadzoo 0 Posted August 24, 2002 Don't worry Duke, your not alone out there. God I love listening to mind numbed liberal crap. They know not what they speak. All they know if what their tree hugging 4th grade teacher and Dan Rather have told them about the "environment." I for one enjoy my 4 wheel drive SUV towering over all the little people. At least the US has controls over pollution.....ever been to Mexico? Where the used tire makes a great Yule log. Come on people, use your own mind, look at the real facts and quit sounding like you just left the Rosie O'Donnel show. Praise "W" for his superior intelligence and the balls to not sign that riduculous Kyoto treaty.
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted August 24, 2002 Gadzoo, I would like to ask you to stop being so offensive and polemic towards other forum members. Everyone is entitled to his views and to airing them, but if you start being so condescending that it could be mistaken for insulting, then I must ask you to stop. On a different note, if you wish to debate I suggest you cut the rhetoric and provide some facts for the basis of your discussion.

That is not the way it is the environment works. The pollution that you create, we get. The pollution we create, you get too. The environment is therefor a global issue. Bush? intelligence? here's a joke from Letterman.
