Cathrynn 10 Posted October 3, 2013 Was doing some testing yesterday in the editor on the Kamino range with some OPFOR infantry as targets, positioned at various ranges. I'd also set most of the infantry targets to be completely static with no ammo but some of them were left with the ability to at least run and move. I do have a heart you know, honest. So there I was, quite happily firing away, as you do, not bothering that a couple of the little blighters had run away home to their mommy's in fear, mewwhoohaahaaa; when all of a sudden I got the dead mans click, 'ack I thought, and noticed I'd completely run out of mags too. Luckily I'd already placed some ammo crates down so it wasn't really an issue. But after I'd reloaded at the crate and was about to turn to get back to business I heard footsteps behind me, close by ?!?!? 'Jesus H. Tap Dancing Christ' I thought as I turned a little more and nearly had a bleed'n heart attack, we've got nips in the wire! I quickly brought my rifle up to the aim and slotted both of them right between the eye balls. Wow, I was impressed, seriously! The two ai enemy that I thought had run off to the rest room had only gone and completely circled around me, to attack me from behind. My adrenaline had gone through the roof and it felt almost real, very clever!
soapsurfer 12 Posted October 3, 2013 Yup, I also noticed that AI is doing some quite good maneuvres in the right situations. If you get engaged by many of them and focus only at some in front of you it is a matter of time until you get shot at from side or back. :) This also works in cities for me. Sometimes AI is quite hard.
mamasan8 11 Posted October 3, 2013 Has been like that since OFP, AI always flanking. It is more refined now.
Greenfist 1863 Posted October 3, 2013 They flanked you without ammo? What were they going to do after getting close? Bleed on you? AI can be hard but not always that smart.

Well, they might hoped to get a bit closer to this: ...already placed some ammo crates down... ;)
Cathrynn 10 Posted October 3, 2013 I hadn't expected the ai to sneak all the way around from behind like that, it really made me jump when I heard those footsteps as I wasn't expecting it! It's just a shame there's no bayonet attachment as the enemy ai were close enough for some cold steel. :) I love the fact that the ai are so accurate on the higher skill settings, it forces you to figure out their weaknesses and adapt accordingly.
