Recommend a campaign?

Recommended Posts

Well, I've played through 1985, Red Hammer, and Resistance, and still want more.

I enjoyed the infantry battles more than sneaking around or using vehicles. I saw that there are some 3rd party campaigns around - care to recommend one, please? Or maybe a series of missions or a mission author?

Thanks.

also check out AvonLady's mission packs

www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq

then search for "mission packs."<span id='postcolor'>

I'll double both of those. PMC fury is 99% infantry combat.

OFPEC should come back

to life soon, they have plenty of good missions in their mission section.

If PMC Fury is the 33 missions campaign, I recommend it too. If it isn't then I recommend that 33 mission campaign smile.gif

The ULOTC campaign, the first campaign ever for OFP and I'm still updating it! At Avon's sight search under campaigns.

CSLA is one of the best I've played. Viet Nam 1969 is quite nice, Terror in Malden is interesting.

There are plenty of others but these were my favourites.

Hi All,

I also want to know of a good campaign that does not require any add-ons but the ones that came with the game

thanks in advance

Samsons

War

On

Terror

Well, I loved it.

Ugh, and I just tried 1969. It's not that great. The missions are OK, cutscenes are OK, but they didn't use UH-60s in Vietnam.

Other than that it's a pretty good campaign. If you like playing an unpatriotic bastard (*joke* you have to watch the cutscenes to get it).

Thanks for the compliment wink.gif

So far I would have to say my fav. mission is "Prisoner Rescue" by Wisp.  It is a quick-to-the-point mission.  And it is also very tactically realistic and unpredictible.  You fast rope into a forest to intercept a truck holding a US prisoner.  You get him,  And then get airlifted out.  There is more to it,  But I don't want to give it away wink.gif

No, it does NOT go into "Missions", because "Missions" is for Official OFP and Red Hammer missions only.

EDIT: It does go into Missions Editing though tounge.gif

Why Mission Editing?

Because we are asking about custom made campaigns/missions. So far, this has gone into ME. No reason to change this.

Samons War on Terror, imo, was better than original OFP campaining. I hope he does something similar to that for resistance.

After reading that post i have come to the conclusion that you are a retard. SWOT has NO speech, dull custscenes and boring and sloppy mission design. Do yourself a favour and download some missions from OFPEC, preferably ones with high marks tounge.gif . A reccomendation or two would be Widows Ridge, which is fairly old but good, and another one which i cant remember the name of but was EXCELLENT!!!

OFPEC = Best OFP site EVER - F A C T!!!

Not going to disagree. However the thing that I really liked was the atempt to break from a pure linear structure and have missions which would change depending on the players performance in previous missions.

My ideal campaign would be where the player did each mission only once ( survival permitting ) and each time had to deal with the results in a fully branched campaign. Probably we'll never see it but hats off to the VN 69 designer for his efforts.

Also a respectful nod to the CSLA guys for an original approach. The only campaign I've played where you see both sides.

SWOT never worked for me. Just kept looping in the first cutscene but perhaps its time to try again.
