Has Naturalpoint dropped the A3 support for TrackIR?

Recommended Posts

Bit off topic here guys but you are the experts. I was thinking of getting TrackIR but read somewhere that

you had to have vertical sync enabled to have it work ? Is this true ?

If so I would loose too much fps on my system to make it worth the purchase.

Many thanks in advance for a reply

Don't know where you heard that, but it's false. Vertical sync is absolutely not required for TrackIR to work. (I've been running TIR without VSync for 4+ years.)

Checked and tried everything suggested above with no luck. Big thanks for the tips though! I guess I'll just have to contact Naturalpoint tech support once again.

What makes this kind of funny is that the issues with TIR follow me through different setups and OS fresh installs... :computer:

If that's true, then you likely have a hardware problem - either with the TrackIR or with your motherboard.

Nahh, the issues have been quite random and not (very) dependent on each other and it works without issues occasionally. I guess it's just bad luck... :p

Random just makes it more likely that it's a hardware problem. I recommend to either try your TrackIR on another computer or try another TrackIR on yours.

I'm not quite sure about that, the issues have been related to software and drivers rather than the hardware itself. But it's not that critical, it'll be time for other stuff soon anyway... :p
