Fiammeggiar 0 Posted August 19, 2002 Is there anyway to play the Single Missions, like Ambush, Bomberman, and Heavy Metal, in Multiplayer Co-Op? I did a search of the forums with no luck. Thanks
Harnu 0 Posted August 20, 2002 If people have them on their servers, then yes. All they have to do is choose it when they choose the mission. You just have to insert the map onto the server or make them MP.
Kermit 0 Posted August 20, 2002 Yes, you can. First, go to the Avon Lady's web site and download the StuffPBO and the UnstuffPBO utilities. After installing them, copy the missions you want to convert to multiplayer into the folder containing the utilities and unstuff them. Now copy the unstuffed mission folders into "Operation Flashpoint\Users\[your name]\missions." Do not forget that you must have a suffix on the folder: Eden for Everon, Able for Malden, and Cain for Kolguchev. I do not know what the suffix for Desert Island is. Your mission folder should look something like this: Singleplayermission.eden Now you will need to make more units Playable so more than one person can play it online, and possibly edit other things as well. Hand grenades are my pet peeve, so I always remove them. It gets more complicated and I am rather new to it, but to remove all of your hand grenades, double click on your unit. In the Init field, type this removemagazines "HandGrenade" For more information, see here and here. Once you have finished editing the mission, copy the mission folder (not your "missions" folder) back to the folder containing the utilities you downloaded from the Avon Lady's site. Use the StuffPBO utility to compress your mission into a PBO file. It should now look something like this: Singleplayermission.eden.pbo Copy it into "Operation Flashpoint\MPMissions." You will now be able to play it on your server.

grey 0 Posted August 21, 2002 if its this easy why hasnt it been done on a wide scale? is there some side effect to doing this eg AI scripts not working correctly etc? if anyone has links to pre-converted BIS single to multi missions id be very greatful
hugo2020 0 Posted August 21, 2002 I know that there is the Red Hammer campaign availible as a coop campaign, is it legal to offer it ?
bn880 5 Posted August 21, 2002 It's not that easy, I will wager many scripts and triggers will require advanced scripting to function correctly in MP. So what you are looking for are converted missions, not FAQ (unless u understand advanced MP scripting and want to rewrite most of the stuff).
Kermit 0 Posted August 22, 2002 Most or all of the scripts function in the mission I converted, which was Ground Attack II. I deleted some simply because they detracted from the mission, such as the "You are lost" ending. I know where I am.
grey 0 Posted August 23, 2002 will triggers that are set to the main player in single player still be triggered by ANY human player in co-op? cos if so that would be the main problem solved wouldnt it ?

Every time I don't have one, I wish I did. As far as the mission design, some things may indeed have to be changed to work properly. Depends on the mission itself, really. Watch out for commands that refer to "player".
grey 0 Posted September 26, 2002 i finally remembered about the idea in this thread and finally tried it today and it works! also, it seems that a unit can either be "non playable", "player" or "playable" ... but every mission regardless of mplayer or singleplayer status must have an entity called "player" anyway... and all the scripts would point to that unit, so the mission scripts shouldnt break in any way correct? finally i can play some of the classic battles of all 3 campaigns on lan with my mates
