Send message to server from outside of game to alert them of restarts etc

Recommended Posts

Hey guys is there a way to tell players on my server of restart announcements even if im not in game, can you use rcon to do this. ie i have changed the server config and need to restart so i globally announce to players outside of the game to give them warning?

B3 (Big Brother Bot) at www.bigbrotherbot.net - you can use the telnet plugin to do this.

You can get the latest files from http://files.cucurb.net/b3/daily/ - there have been a few Arma specific improvements since the latest official release 1.9.1, so use the latest daily build instead.

Oh god it looks good but i have no idea how to set that up.

If you are running it on Windows then you can use the win32 binary, then all you have to do apart from install the binary is to install mysql

you could check the clipboard in a spawned script code and look for a certain string, on the other hand, in your batch on the server you copy the string before the reboot.

never tried though, but could be a quick solution

oh, it's a shame, did not know that. I was always in the mind that I could use this one day for inter-process communication... fast implementation with scripting language like auto-it....
