chortles 263 Posted September 12, 2013 You can also plant down a character, then go Empty -> Air -> A 143 Buzzard (AA) or (CAS) if you want to put down a landed jet for you to manually climb into. :)
MavericK96 0 Posted September 12, 2013 I definitely noticed a framerate improvement over what I was experiencing in dev branch over the weekend. I'm in the solid 30-35 range, all settings maxed, with 3500 view distance. That's a far cry from the teens I was bogging down into last week! :) Is that in editor or an actual mission? Also, what are your system specs? In a mission I get horrible framerate drops pretty much regardless of settings.
horrorview 10 Posted September 12, 2013 Is that in editor or an actual mission? Also, what are your system specs? In a mission I get horrible framerate drops pretty much regardless of settings. It's in a single player editor mission I made (and my scripting is RUBBISH, I tell ya!). I also tried a couple of the missions I downloaded from Steam Workshop (one is quite good! I can't remember the name right now, but it's five squads doing a beach landing at night and working through a small town). The latter missions are quite intensive and feature far more action (and participants) than my lame-o missions, and I was still above 30fps through it all. My main issues over the weekend tended to occur after playing for more than a half hour or so. My framerate would be halved and then some, down to unplayable levels. Thus far, it feels much smoother. I've not tried multiplayer yet, but I'm not really in any groups or anything, so my multiplayer experiences thus far have been underwhelming ("Hey! I'm the boss, here! Only I can fly! You can walk the six miles to the objective" etc...).
twisted 128 Posted September 12, 2013 the final release is pretty cool, Altos runs smoothly on my oldish PC, the AI combat works nicely (using the built in payroll and defend functions) . getting about 60ifpd, dig the update graphics and much smoother character interactio: altis really is cool , it's possibly the most believable map I've ever enjoyed in a game. pretty keen to see the coming developments hinted at by DNA...
