  1. Yeah, I'm using TADST and I've followed the directions that you posted from Brawler on the last page. I've followed lots of tutorials. You launch ARMA first? Aren't you supposed to close out of Steam first and then launch TADST and then ARMA? According to Brawler: "Remember to shut down Steam client, the Steam client must always be shut down before you starting your dedicated server!"
  2. Thanks. I've done everything I can but when I try to enter my server it either gets stuck on the loading screen until I get a message that it's lost connection to host or I immediately get into the screen where I choose whether I'm going to be the team leader or machine gunner or marksman, etc. But after selecting something it says that it's lost connection to host again. I've been trying to do this for a couple years. Always the same stupid shit that never works. I blame ARMA. My server is hosted on the same PC I'm playing ARMA on.
  3. So, the first video about setting up an Arma server using TADST seems to be simple enough but I noticed that there's another video that claims to instruct me on how to do the same thing but it has about 50 steps involving port forwarding amongst other things that the video you linked me doesn't have. Do I not need to do any port forwarding?
  4. Excellent. I'll look it over. Thanks.
  5. But if you're running a dedicated server off of another PC don't you have to keep that PC running 24/7? I wish there were some easy to follow instructions on how to do this.
  6. Still can't save a mission and load it back to continue where you left off, right? You have to have a dedicated server to play a persistent mission?
  7. What if I turn off the server or shut down my computer? Does the local server have to be running the whole time to save my game? What do I do after I load the arma3server.exe shortcut? I see a small window at the top left of my screen but should I load ARMA 3 and search for my server name because I did that and I don't see it there. The small windows displays this: 13:36:13 Dedicated host created. 13:36:15 BattlEye Server: Initialized (v1.196) 13:36:15 Host identity created. 13:36:15 Game Port: xxxx, Steam Query Port: xxxx (I replaced the actual numbers with xxxx) My shortcut target is this: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\arma3server.exe" -cfg=basic.cfg -config=server.cfg -profiles=D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\Users\myservername -name=myservername I didn't add a Server Difficulty Settings File because none of the examples are from ARMA 3. Will it even work without this?
  8. Ok, I'll give that a try. Thanks guys.
  9. I appreciate the help but the directions there just don't make sense. For example, on page, https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Server_configuration#Example_Setups, it reads: "The parameter requires the explicit path to the directory containing the "server.armaprofile" file and the default location for this is "Drive:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\ArmA Other Profiles"." There is no "server.armaprofile" file in that folder. The example they give has this "-profiles=D:\ArmA\Users\server -name=server". How do I know what to put in place of the word "server"?
  10. Looks pretty damn complicated. I also noticed that the example configurations are all for ARMA 2 or Operation Arrowhead or ARMA, nothing for ARMA 3. Also, if I set up a local server on the same PC I'm using to play ARMA 3 wouldn't that bog down my PC?
  11. Still no way to save a game without having a dedicated server I assume?
