3D compatability

Recommended Posts

Hey Bohemia Interactive

I wanted to hear if Arma 3 is going to be compatible with:

Nvidia 3D Vision

Side by Side

and/or

Top and buttom

For not Nvidia 3D Vision compatible monitor.

Sincerly

You can use TriDef for that if you have a 3D monitor.

But sadly the profile for arma 3 and even 2 is not working correct ( the picture jumps when ever you get close to an object ) so its very unpleasant. Whats even more sad is that the tridef developers have put arma 3 "on the back bench" for the time being but maybe if more people would press on them to make it work they most likely would.

And the next and most important Question is on what kind of a NASA Computer you wanna play it in 3D? seriously ARMA 3 runs with 1 Core even if you have 8 also it only uses just 40-55 percent of your graphic cards power. So with how manny FPS you wanna play ARMA 3 in 3D Mode? you guys know that every pixel has to be calculated 3 times from the graphic card in 3D mode,so right now you play ARMA 3 with a GTX 780 8GB ram and the fastest Intel CPU on 30-50 FPS,and with how much you would play it in 3D? 8-15FPS? its still a long way until you can use 3D to play arma 3 Normal without laggs.

Arma is mostly CPU limited so your graphics card usually has performance to spare. As you said, it only uses 50% of your GPU...so we can use the other 50% for 3D vision :) .

Seriously though, I don't think it would be anymore demanding than it is with Arma2, which runs ok for me in 3d vision performance wise, there are just too many anomalies /artifacts etc to enjoy it properly.

I think there is a demand for 3D out there as it is the 21 century :-)

that's another question if BMI will develop it or not for Arma

I hope they will :-)

Here is another video of the issue using the 7970 with tridef now in HD. If there are any AMD 7970 users here who fancy 3D gaming please use the link bellow to go to the Arma 3 profile forum page and demand a fix :)
