Hello, my friend was wondering if part of the ArmA 3 beta was going to be open as anyone can hop in and play. He is wondering so he can test play the multiplayer.

No. You need to buy A3. If you bought the Alpha, the Beta will be upgraded for free.

You have to buy the game to be part of the beta. If you buy the game before the 25th June ~ midday (tomorrow) it will cost you £19.99 on Steam or your equivalent currency amount. If you buy the game after tomorrow it will cost you £10 more to be in the beta.

There is no "open" or "closed" beta, simply put buy the game and you will have access to the beta AND the full game once released.

There is no information on a Beta lite and I'd say it's very unlikey.

You can get in the Beta by buying the final game for a discounted price right now which gives you access to the Beta already.
