Hatchet_Harry 1 Posted May 26, 2013 Hello there, i am thinking about uploading PBO files as Folder on my dedicated server. But i dont know if there are any security or other issues. Uploading as folder: Pro: - the user downloads - i dont have to create pbo files - the user downloads __cur_mp.pbo instead of a named pbo file - if i change scripts the ingame #restart command will reinitiate the mission download, because files have been changed? Contra: ???? Uploading as PBO: Pro: - named PBO file on client - The client has not to download my mission, if he has downloaded the correct version? Contra: - I have to create Pbo files With the red marked lines i am not sure. Has anybody tested the 2 ways to upload missions? What do you think about it? regards Harry
SavageCDN 231 Posted May 27, 2013 Can you even run a mission from a folder instead of PBO on a dedi? Don't think so... at least I don't know how. For me creating a .pbo is right-click, Create PBO... it doesn't get much easier than that.
redryder 10 Posted June 16, 2013 Doesnt it autopack the mission to PBO when you hit "Save As" in the editor and select "Export to Multiplayer"?
