Server error: Player without identity ****

I'm still experiencing this:

With stable (logically) but also with the latest DEV build. The thread suggests It has allraedy been fixed in dev.

SteamCMD:

Like in the thread mentioned above. I join but nothing happens (I don't get in lobby). For the record, steam is disabled on the server.

Server: Win2012 x64.

The server is located within the same LAN network but NOT on the same PC as the client. VerifySignatures = 0 does not change anything.

Did I mis something?

Well since none is replying I keep on searching..

-exThreads=1 as an extra param does not change anything.

Anyone got more suggestions?

So further investigation.

A friend of mine tried hosting my mission file on his server with the same result. Other missions run fine tho. It seems something is wrong with the mission file.

So at this point it is possible to host the mission from a client, and people can join. It however it not possible to host it dedicated, everyone get's stuck at the loading screen with the logs spamming that message.

Anyone got suggestions?

I placed this at the first line of my init.sqf to make sure it's not script error:

It however does not appear in the logs. Therefor it's not a script error. Maybe an description error?

True, but the issue was narrowed down to:

When he was running a dedicated server on box "A" on his local network he could not connect with a client running on box "B" on same local network. But if the client was running on box "A" and the dedicated server also was running box "A" it worked fine.

Are you having this exactly same problem?

I rented a Root Server from Hetzner. This Server isnt at my Home or the same Network as the Client(me).

Well then you are not having the exact same problem as mindstorm.

Problem solved. Restarting the Root Server fixed it! =) Im happy now. =)

syntax errors here

should be

My solution:

At the beginning of any of your server.cfg insert two lines

steamport=xxxx; //xxxx being the particular game server port

steamqueryport=xxx1; // xxx1 being the particular game server port plus 1

Attempting to run an ARMA 3 server on an dedicated machine... Was running all fine, Did a restart and now I cant run a single server due too.. Server error: Player without identity

Any fixes? any Details?

I had the same problem.

My solution:

I just want to mention that I solved this problem my closing the server, exiting steam and then starting the server again before I run steam. (using arma3server.exe)

Thank you so much Gatsu....search the whole internet for several hours and really nothing worked out so far. Neither steamports nor update arma nor any of the hundred tipps. But closing steam.exe, starting the dedicated server and than restarting steam works perfectly

If you host multiple servers on the same machine, make sure that you don't accidentally reuse the steam-port of the one server as the port for the other server.

 

So if one server runs on Port 1000, the other can't run on 1001 as this is the port of the steam-services of the first server (by default)
