ACLU and other watchdog groups are closest one you could find these days.

We already have a neighborhood watch program and no one gives a fuck about it. Really no one does there are just stupid signs in some neighborhoods that have them to deter theives or drug dealers or something I dont know really but they dont do anything.

Ya, our neighborhood watch program is bad too. The only ones who call in are the old people thinking that us youngins are up to something. Even tho we mostly are... were never caught.

This is how we feel. At night, you have to keep moving around- if you stay in one place too long, some idiot calls in, and you get a couple squad cars pulling up and frisking you- not an 'airline security' frisking, but a 'If you have a weapon on you, I will find it if it is anywhere but your rectal chamber' frisking. I felt violated

And the worst part is he hasnt called me back yet tounge.gif

Yeah, there are these Swedish bastards that live on my street and they are always staring out their windows even at times like 12 am If I go out in the street I can see them looking at me. Also if you go on their property the guy comes out and barks at you like a dog ( he actually makes a dog like bark ) maybe its swedish for get off my property or something but I dont like him so me and my friend stole all of his private property signs without him seeying us!! I have also taken some scoped bb guns shots at their driveway lights which are about 20 ft up and these guys are old people.... bastards.

Old people like to look out of the window.

Doesn't that happen everywhere?

We have this game, "suburban-old-woman-bingo".

In front of a block of flats -type house, say some word aloud,

or do something suspicious, like look drunk.

Then wait a few seconds, and if you get a straight line

of the old womans in the window, you WIN!

You ever heard of the concept "Respect your Elders"?  Old people have a right to be scared, especially if you vandalize their property just because they look at you suspiciously. It's people like you is what gives the younger generation a bad name!

Sometimes I can't believe the crap I read in here!  Tsk tsk...

"I think it would be smarter if we had people who had somehow proven themselves trustworthy that were doing this. I mean, if we just let every civilian spy on each other, which is really what it sounds like is being proposed, it would seriously infringe on civil rights. But if we had trained people who knew what they were looking for doing this, that would help."

What is the difference? You are being spied on all the same. Everything about you registered in some database that certain people have access to. Then, one day, you get turned down when applying to a job because in that database is a reference to the fact that you bought music CD's from a company whose CEO supported a friend who was Al Queda...

"We already have a neighborhood watch program and no one gives a fuck about it. Really no one does there are just stupid signs in some neighborhoods that have them to deter theives or drug dealers or something I dont know really but they dont do anything. "

There is a difference in neighbors watching for thiefs and thugs, and neighbors spieing on eachother. As far as I know, present day neighborhood watch programs don't engage in espionage against other households.

Or, even better than that, if they find evidence that you have bought

furniture from IKEA, which had to pay 3000$ fine for buying carpets from

Taleban, which, therefore, could be a hostile corporation!

I bet that lot of this board's discussions are registered and stored by

"Echelon"..

It's good to respect older people, but if you respect people who don't respect

you, that just makes you a fool.

I had a gripe about cameras being put on top of buildings in europe, but I was told If your not a law breaker you have nothing to worry about. Isn't this all in a way the same thing?

-----------------------------------------------

Col. Kurtz

I wonder how much lead I would need to try and shoot George W. Bush from Australia? Hmmmm, maybe a bit too much. But if I used rocket propelled bullets that broke the speed of light!

Well since most guns in Australia were outlawed and destoyed by your goverment that might be kinda hard. This again is a way for you to be controlled.

----------------------------------------------------------

And as for money being the root of all evil.......

Without material wealth the human race has nothing to shoot for. Because if you take it

away you'll still have resources. Like wood ,water ,land and such, which all are expendable and some even

non renewable. You'll need wood to build a house ,water to drink, where will it come from?

The reason STARTREK is a myth is because the day that man starts to colonize space it will only get worse, as new elements will be found.

And that will push us back into the days where gold was valued above all else.

----------------------------------------------------------

Shit!! Why did I have to fix my PC this week , I've started playing DEUS EX again. I'm in the france level of the game.....no I haven't beat it yet smile.gif This game has been an eyeopener for me.

Does PRESIDENT MEAD look like a grey haired G.W. BUSH?confused.gif

And where is the WTC in the skyline of NY?confused.gif?

Is this life imitating art or what.

To me there is a difference between cameras in a few public troublespots and neighbors ratting eachother out for government credits.

A square a couple of blocks from where I live is covered by three cameras 24/7. It used to be a real shitty place with regular beatings, robberies and even rapes. Now, crime has almost gone down to zero there. Sure, there is still the occasional drunken brawl or mugging but not nearly as much as before. Since its a place many people pass when going through the city, its a good thing. I doubt anyones personal integrity has been compromised by those cameras. I know for a fact that they have saved alot of pain and suffering. And police resources.

Lol the funny thing is there's a very similar program in place in Cuba. Every residential block has one "Civil Guard" in charge. There's even a sort of "holiday" dedicated to it. One night every year schoolkids in uniform get to stay up late and patrol the streets with flashlights. It was kind of a novelty smile.gif. plus there were soldiers on the streets making sure the kids are allright, and they'd salute us and we'd salute them....All nostalgia aside though, anyone else think Bush should read "1984"? Or maybe he read it already and said "hey that sounds interesting"

Exactly I dont consider respect having old people act like dogs and barking at me, maybe thats cool in Sweden but this isnt Sweden. And for the guy that said this gives your generation a bad name well yeah you are partly right but that is also what gives those old peoples generation a bad name. There are other old people that live by me and dont stare out their windows 24/7 and they respect and I respect them.

hehe,a lot of old people here do that too when me and my friends are skating otuside or having a eber or anything really :]

just smile and wave, they pull the curtain shut and leave you to your business,or come out and give you an opportunity to train your sarcastic discussions (works well when slightly drunk tounge.gif )

now ontopic

seems slightly contradict to spy on people, invade their privacy doing it to preserve democratic rights

(hey wait, isn't the right for privacy a democratic right?someone should tell bush this,he might make a fool of himself)
