nordin dk 0 Posted January 7, 2002 I prefer a safe respawn area. Nothing worse than coming back to life, only to be capped while rearming. Man, that sucks. Usually the people who do that, are small egoes trying to obtain as many kills as possible. I don't mind the base raping though. If a team leaves their base unprotected, it's their own fault. The best players, or so it seems, are the ones that don't make a fuzz about themselves. In every aspect of life, if someone brags a lot, it will most likely turn out he's all mouth. If you're good and you know it, then keep that knowledge to yourself. People will find out when they play against you, and you'll automatically get the respect you deserve. Bragging doesn't give you respect, it only means you have a small d**k. The best players out there always give you a learning experience from observing their playing (if you can catch a glimpse). I live for shooting loud mouth little kiddies who constantly brag about their "skillz".... most of the time they start off about how thier gonna wipe the floor with you and when you start to pound thier asses they come up with every little excuse in the book.... RN Malboeuf 12 Posted January 9, 2002 I found SD Static a kewl head under presure, he came up with a few baits to lure me in when i was hunting him when he stole my flag, I've hunted about every flag carrier out there, he was the 1st one not to run, it saved his life, he never got a flag capture, but if he tried this on any one else but the greatest wabit hunter he would have succeded, I wont post his tactis, they were totaly wicked I'll put it this way for 30 mins I hunted flags (3) he stole, he had nothing but a few RPGs to my T-80, I took 9 RPG hits and one mine, if it were not for the fact he forgot to destroy my Repair truck he would have got me sooner, but with 1 min left he never had the time to bring the flag home it was a awsome match 4vs4 well faught Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted January 10, 2002 A Geneva Convension for OFP is what we need. I have never known anyone that held their fire because the target was a medic. I think that base raping is wrong, and killing ammo boxes and tents in someones spawn is horrible. But we really cant do shit about it. So to pick one is unfair.  But they are the Best I have Played with. If you go up against any of these guys bring your rape kit.  Because they are going to straight up molest you. I for one use the sniper-view-thru-bush clipping trick often. All to be little less visible. Its not really a cheat since in real life I would aim through the bush from the backside, still being able to see enough. Also, one can see things when hiding under a tree when you normally only see a flat polygon in front of you by looking a little down, voila!, the polygon slides up, making you able to see things behind it you couldnt possibly see while aiming straight along the ground! Same thing in using 3rd person over a hill. Am I cheating? No, Im using the engine and the terrain to my advantage... -EDIT- Hence being one of those players that can use the enviroment, that is, a good player (Well not really, but almost) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Hiding in trees or bushes with the "clipping method" is what everyone is doing and fine by me cause the developers of this game wanted this to be done in this way, no one would call this cheating and in real life you can hide in, see thru and shoot thru bushes and trees. However if what makes you one of the best OFP players (since residuum posted it here, he must have meant that he considered himself to be one) is your "ability" to exploit clipping defects in the game engine you are way out on deep water. If you use this to go thru walls, hide in walls, rocks and other solid objects that were not meant by the developers to be used in such way then you are cheating. Plat the game the way it was meant to be played or choose another hobby. As for this specific case I have no idea, I have never played against residuum but since he state that this is what makes him good ("to camp using the games poor clipping") it looks like it wasnt any coincidence he came uopn the roof of the church and if he went thru a wall to get there he was cheating..simple enough. Mal instead of defending him you should take your responsability as clanleader and teach him was is considered to be the respected way to play this game. But that wasn't flaming, it was throwing a suggestion in your cocky direction, and the majority of the people feel the same way.
