toiletguy 1 Posted April 26, 2013 In my opinion Arma 3 clouds is way inferior to the Take On Helicopters clouds. Arma 3 feels they're more like of sprite and 2D texture. Perhaps its just me thinking that they're not pretty as Take On Helicopters. Here's a screenshot from my Take On Helicopters Build and Arma 3 Alpha build : Both clouds are on ultra setting. As you can see in Arma 3. The edge of the clouds are not detailed as Take On Helicopters one. You can see layers between the clouds in Arma 3 in the middle of the picture. Are these clouds are subject to change? Discuss.
Predator.v2 10 Posted April 26, 2013 Arma 3 ultra cloud also tend to "morph" depending on your player movement. Very disturbing.. Could you provide some videos of TKOH and A3 clouds? I only own A2CO and A3A and have only seen TKOH on youtube videos so far. Although TKOH clouds "seems" to look much more "natural" than A3 clouds. Especially when using AIA or Cessna Mod and flying high with planes in A3.
toiletguy 1 Posted April 26, 2013 TKOH cloud morphs as well as ArmA 3 but they're more detailed imo. Especially when you're flying in the clouds.
roberthammer 582 Posted April 26, 2013 ArmA3 clouds are wip for sure - in final they should be like in TKOH but both have "morph" depending on your player movement
dmarkwick 261 Posted April 26, 2013 I don't know much about Truesky (that's the name of the middleware right?) but it might be the case that there's some amount of scaling going on, after all TOH is a flight sim while A3 is an infantry game. Perhaps there are just fewer features enabled.
