defk0n_NL 2 Posted March 11, 2013 Hi, I am totally new to the arma modding scene and would like to get sense of direction and ask some questions on what is possible modding wise. From what i have seen the mission editor function/command list only lists external objects that can be modded (outside of the player itself) i am wondering on the possibility of changing game specific mechanics like aiming deadzone/adding new animations to existing functions/altering animations and changing general chatbox. How possible are these to mod, if any? Ive seen that someone made a animation mod for arma 2 before but i dont know if it was a really clever mission hack or something. also i have read somewhere that there is a callExtension function that is able to load custom .dll's from the game folder. if that was implemented in a server mission file, would a client be able to interpret that callextension if the .dll was present?(sqlite persistence and the like)

purepassion 22 Posted March 11, 2013 Hi, I am totally new to the arma modding scene and would like to get sense of direction and ask some questions on what is possible modding wise. Hey defk0n, there is actually a slider for the aiming deadzone in the game options :) As for modding in general, you can create soundmods, you can create maps, you can create models, you can create new animations, you can create new scripts and functionality, you can create a new UI... There are little boundaries :) If you want to get involved, I'd suggest you to make a google search for "arma modding tutorial", browse the editing sections and the corresponding stickies in the forum and read through the Arma wiki.
