Georilla 6 Posted March 8, 2013 I noticed the Infantry Showcase is different from spawning infantry in the editor, as in the showcase the leader calls names while in the editor it's just like it always was before (1,2,3..). I'm curious as to what exactly the plan is for the final version? In the alpha you can only hear a few different voices, mostly 1, but that's logical since it's the alpha. I'm sure there'll be more voices in the final version. In the final version, will we hear (1,2,3) again or will it be just like in the showcase? It's called showcase for a reason, so I'm hoping it will be the latter.
ghostnineone 10 Posted March 8, 2013 One thing that irritates me about the AI chatter is that if they spot a group of enemies they have to call out every single one of them. I'd prefer if they would say "enemy squad 500 meters" or "enemy infantry, count 6, 500 meters" and not ENEMY MAN 500 meters, repeated 6 more times.
Maslofski 10 Posted March 8, 2013 i guess the showcases are like campaigns, with own voice acting, not like usermade stuff.
fortun 14 Posted March 8, 2013 Would be nice if it was working like automated voice as good. So you could enter whatever name and it said it as good as it can. One more thing is they should make own Voice acting in editor much easier to access. Really misses to have voice on my missions.

It's called showcase for a reason, so I'm hoping it will be the latter. Names are handled by "setIdentity", so unless you specifically assign one, the default will be the squad number (as designed). Try for example, writing this into a subordinate's initialization field: this setIdentity "Kerry" The radio protocol is currently a working prototype, and only uses two voices, and comes with a limited number of identities (names): Reynolds Armstrong Lacey Larkin Kerry Nichols Tanny Frost Other names are defined but somewhat under-configured. Prototype iterations take a *long time* to record and edit, and we've been making plenty while testing refinements and fixes! There will, naturally, be a full range of consistent voices for the final product. Best, RiE
