Komanche 1 Posted March 8, 2013 Is there a possibility that underslung grenade launchers, bibods and grips might be given their own attachment slot? It doesn't make a whole lotta sense to have a V.grip on the m14 ebr but no way of replacing it with a bipod (not that bipods work in the alpha yet).
Komanche 1 Posted March 8, 2013 Bumping Is there any word on this? There was another thread that was slightly similar concerning more attachment slots to be available but since there are bipods and V.grips already on most of the guns, am I right in assuming that they will be individual attachments? kilroy the nerd 14 Posted March 8, 2013 I could definitely support this. I think I saw a WIP M4 mod somewhere that had various underbarrel attachments.
rogue trdr 10 Posted March 8, 2013 I wouldn't get too concerned, if BIS don't add it I'm sure someone will mod it in.
gliptal 25 Posted March 8, 2013 Signed! V grip isn't that wrong on the EBR though... Yay!
nimrod123 11 Posted March 8, 2013 post it in the feedback forum http://feedback.arma3.com/bug_report_page.php that way it will pass infront of QA and i would say this is a failure in terms of funcionality (so ~bug)
BrainSplitter 1 Posted March 21, 2013 To save making a new topic and given it's in a similar enough vein. Do we know if having 4 variable slots (Muzzle, Scope, Right-side rail, Magazine) is going to be a permanent thing in ArmA 3? Or does it appear that it might be modded? Largely asking, because I feel that adding a bottom-side rail (Grips, Underslungs, Bipods) and left-side rail (another slot for IR, Scope, Etc) could be a viable (and ideally not too difficult given current framework) addition. Saves having the SuperGunX and SuperGunX+GL and SuperGunX+Keymaster and SuperGunX+Bipod, etc
chortles 263 Posted March 21, 2013 Vespa mentioned right around the end of Gamescom 2012 that "for now" it was three slots plus the magazine, though not exactly his area, but that number basically precludes adding an underbarrel accessory slot without removing the muzzle, optic or side accessory slots. Alwarren 2767 Posted March 21, 2013 Bumping Just as a friendly tip, don't bump threads, especially not after two hours. Mods (and users alike) don't like this. Also, if you want to propose a feature, use this thread. ---------- Post added at 11:31 ---------- Previous post was at 11:26 ---------- Do we know if having 4 variable slots (Muzzle, Scope, Right-side rail, Magazine) is going to be a permanent thing in ArmA 3? Saves having the SuperGunX and SuperGunX+GL and SuperGunX+Keymaster and SuperGunX+Bipod, etc Oh, as a modder, I am more than happy about only having two variants. For Arma 2, I had to make 28 or so variants per camo I wanted to support, now I have to make two. That's a good compromise for me :) I am not sure how easy it would be to change the engine to support attachable grenade launchers. The problem with those is they add another muzzle (that's the parts of a gun that go pew-pew-pew in config terms) as opposed to just adding a different optics. The implication is that the gun will suddenly accept different magazines as well. While the optics and laser/flashlight could be done by simply merging the memory LOD's of a model, adding a muzzle isn't that easy. All of it "AFAIK", of course. chortles 263 Posted March 21, 2013 In addition to saying that as of Gamescom "for now" it would only be three attachment slots (plus the magazine) Vespa also said that at the time there wasn't a plan for magazines to look different, i.e. a hundred-round magazine would still look like a regular magazine instead of a C-MAG.
