NordKindchen 12 Posted April 9, 2013 It was meant in the sense of "even an arcadey shooter at least simulates this realistic element (however unrealistically) yet the supposed infantry simulator does not at all". Exactly And because of the interview linked in the OP it is not "that sure" that it really is coming. Anyway - since the request ticket of that feature has over 1000 votes - it is likely to happen at some point. Greetings
chompster 29 Posted April 9, 2013 so what? because of BF3 now everygame needs that? - anyway this feature will be added but we have to wait.no but they have been doing it since(as far as i know..) battlefield 2. which was in 2005. 8 years ago.No, this doesn't mean that BiS HAS to do it, but come on.. for the kind of game it's claiming to be and having a number of vehicles which would make use of this feature you'd sorta expect them to have it in by now.. Greetings Admittedly in the case of BF3 'weapon resting' was only if your primary weapon had the bipod attachment, so there's no 'resting weapon by the handguard' in BF3, but right now part of the other issue is that "underbarrel modular attachments" aren't simulated at all, hence why the MX 3GL is a separate weapon, while on the MX series the Magpul AFG (MX and MXC), the vertical foregrip (MXM) and the vertical foregrip/bipod (MX SW) are currently all purely cosmetic; if a "weapon resting" implementation only applied to weapons with a modeled bipod then only the MX SW and the Mk 200 would benefit. As far as "not that sure that it really is coming" -- other than Dwarden's voiced support and promise that he's advocating weapon resting within BI we really don't know anything about the devs' collective decision-making process, though the SITREPs suggest "not a priority of DnA's" at least within the alpha period. shay_gman 272 Posted April 10, 2013 Even Bf3 has this feature.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... You are right my friend, we need to get our priorities right: +for alpha 1. X-Bow 2. weapon resting on edges of static objects(both map and editor placed)/surfaces(terrain)/vehicles 3. weapon bipod, tripod etc deployment on surface/object (fixed point alike, stability) +for beta 4. X-Bow with explosive arrows 5. primary/secondary/throw weapon firing from fixed poses in vehicles (positions which allows it) (similar as shown by Dsly )+nice to have (aka not gunna happen this generation of engine) 6. free roam inside vehicles, free fire etc (this is too complex and problematic) Dwarden push it up at BIS HQ
