Ofp racing

Hey Guys.

Since OFP 1.0 I wanted to have a big race and now with the new netcode its possible.

So I want a race that is about 1 or 2 hours long, sounds cool to me.

Here is the idea, your drive in teams (2 man a team, so you can go the toilet or get something to drink)

In cars that are special made at a special design track with some guys around who make sure you don't cheat.

What I need:

* A good/stable server.

* Car skinners (some kind of racingcar that won't fall apart very quick like the normal civ cars)

* Track/mission makers. (need a script that counts howmany rounds the teams have driven)

* Webmaster (forum i can do myself)

* Forgetting something?

sounds cool.

maybe a gun or a heavy turret on your car, so you can make opponenst crash, so they loose some time. Better is NOT to let the cars break at ALL. So you will always be competitive for the race ( unless your car turns over... ) and a good race track of course, and maybe some nice music.

would make a great idea.

Ok I did some racing and racing with motors is much cooler.

But bikes are very easy damaged sad.gif

SO could some1 make an stronger bike, higher speed and look more like a superbike? smile.gif

Would be great I think to race like that with many guys.

What, is this Grand Theft Auto? There is no reason to make the cars stronger. The damage for cars in Operation Flashpoint is very realistic. In most racing games, you can slam a car into a wall at ninety miles an hour and not only survive, but keep driving. Is this what you want? I've always thought that Operation Flashpoint strives for realism. You are taking a step backwards.

Its no fun when you bike is damaged after 5 minutes and you have to watch the rest off the rest.

There must be a balance between gameplay and realisme

How bout a script whereby if you damage the bike you get a 10 second penalty and then a brand new bike is spawned to your location? Or the broken one fixed of course smile.gif

This is ending up more like a ME thread so I'll move it over there smile.gif

If you go to the main forum page you will se a nice big title that says "ENGLISH". The meaning of this is that English is the language that is used on this part of the board, so please stick to English. You are of course welcome to discuss things in Czech in the Czech forums smile.gif

Cars have realisitic damage model in OPF?! Pfffft! So that´s why my Skoda get´s all messed up, trashed, as I bump into a tree in 20km/h? Windows smashed and all....=)

this sounds fun if ur going to use motor bikes why not have a side car with a mgun mounted on it so if u have a two man team one can take out the opersistion that would make it more fun with some action to it and mayby some ramps or am i getting carryed away with this now?

Eheh, I much prefer a nice mini-race down the Malden runway, using the sports cars/Jeeps biggrin.gif Those UAZs go bloody fast when you floor it wink.gif

You know nothing of this, being yet another who has been deceived by stupid, unrealistic jock movies such as "The Fast and the Furious."  I have a suggestion.  In real life, take your car and drive it at twenty five miles an hour into a tree or a telephone pole.  Have fun fixing your car.  While it may not shatter your windows, it won't be that much less than what Operation Flashpoint depicts.

[Edit: I removed a jab at his grammar and punctuation.  As I wrote it, I did not think of the fact that English is not the primary language of many of the people who attend this forum.  If English is not Hindhunter's primary language, then I apologize.  If it is his primary language, then I say he is a stupid git.]

to make the cars invincible, why don't you have a trgger that covers the whole map, make it activated by anybody, make it repeatedly, and in the CONDITION box type:

not (alive #playername# and #oyherplayername# and...)

Then, in the ON ACTIVATION box type:

#playername# and #otherplayername# and... set damage 0

It worked for me! smile.gif

You could leave the damage on the cars.  Add a third group of people that fly a modified helicopter such as a CH-47 or a Mi-17 that serves as at repair vehicle.  When one teams car gets busted, he calls for repairs and his position appears on the map, then the repair chopper goes to his aid.  

If the car is stuck on a place where the chopper can't land then you could create a modified unit to be a mechanic like a medic but for vehicles.  The mech parachutes from the chopper and fix the car.  If the car is fixed by the chopper directly it takes a certain amount of time to fix, but if it is fixed by the mech it takes more time.

Also (don't know if this can be done), make the car to detect if the tires are flat, if they are flat a command on the action menu could be added to replace the tire a limited number of times.

Benn readding through the multiplayer forum and my suggestions for something like this would be....

!. if possible,try and make a slower car boost like in sega rally so if someones lagging behind their car goes a bit faster so the can catch up and make the race more competitive.

2.make checkpoints so no one gets left behind or lost andd maybe have a guy in a chopper to pick up the stragglers when most ppl are waiting at a checkpoint.

3. couldnt u use bunkers or flags as markers for the race
