MMrrTT 1 Posted January 14, 2013 Hello. I've got very strange-looking grass when I enable ATOC. The trees looks the same in some areas at some distances. Why the grass and trees are drawn with some dots? http://clip2net.com/clip/m70200/1358177622-clip-805kb.jpg (805 kB) http://clip2net.com/clip/m70200/1358177639-clip-758kb.jpg (758 kB) http://clip2net.com/clip/m70200/1358177526-clip-446kb.jpg (446 kB) http://clip2net.com/clip/m70200/1358177580-clip-414kb.jpg (414 kB)
BoltboxerPro 1 Posted January 16, 2013 I know from my experiences with other high performence games that turning up your settings can cause graphic and textures to appear messed up. I'd try lowering all your setting to low, normal, very low and trying atoc then. It could just be that it requires graphics your computer can't provide at those settings. MMrrTT 1 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Mmm, if 7950 can't provide sufficent graphics power for Arma 2 then I don't know. Edited January 16, 2013 by MMrrTT
hatbuster 1 Posted January 16, 2013 It renders in the same way for me, I guess the Alpha to Coverage implementation is just not very good. As an alternative, try oversampling! Just disable all AA and set the 3D resolution much higher than your interface resolution. That way you'll get some smoothed edges without any of these weird glitches, at the cost of performance, though.
JuggernautOfWar 1 Posted January 16, 2013 I get the same problem as in the screenshots when I enable AToC. I have a GTX 570 Classified Edition (overclocked) running with a Phenom II X4 955.
kklownboy 43 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) AA is on in the CCC... a 7950 is a good card. I have had that(mesh) as most players have... but it is a combination of settings that is the issue. Well i tried to create the mesh on the grass. Cant seem to make it happen. It is always a little (or alot depending on the tree) on the trees. All my settings are on veryhigh, ATOC =allTrees+grass, PP is off. The question is what driver for your 7950 do you use? I am on the 12.11beta, beta 11, with my 7970. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx Tho a new drive is coming out today Edited January 16, 2013 by kklownboy
scruffy 22 Posted January 19, 2013 The grid on vegetation is normal I think. Size and visibility change with the AA setting, it's awful in low and fine in high. As HatBuster said, try a higher 3D resolution. Finer details on vegetation, more AF and no edges in front of smoke. It might even run better depending on the situation, if the smoothing isn't enough couple it with PPAA.
