valnwt 11 Posted October 17, 2012 Hello everyone Have been thinking about this for a while now and thought it’s time to share my idea. Not to draw out the story to much now, only giving away the source of the proposition I'm about to make. Story So one day, standing I front of the mirror just looking I, out of unknown reason, started to turn my head. As I was looking at my eyes while doing this I realized they were staying put in the horizontal position. What I mean is that they were turning around the axis which represent the way I was looking, but only until a certain angle and with a small latency. Ill let the images talk: Having issues getting the images to work, check these links: http://www.flickr.com/photos/79905291@N08/8097859446/lightbox/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Eye_movements_medial_rot.jpg I’m not the best at describing things, so if you’re having difficulties understanding then go and try it yourself. Look in a mirror and turn your head while looking at your eyes. Purpose My idea was that when flying in arma and banking in a heli or plane, making the image not follow the fuselage. Instead the horizon, until a certain point and after that gradually stick with the aircrafts body. Of course, this is a thing I made up in front of a mirror :P , it would be great if a someone with real life flying experience could comment on this. Thanks for your time Kind Regards Daniel
[aps]gnat 28 Posted October 18, 2012 Understand. Agree. Eyes horizontal until the banking is too sleep, then eyes follow the wing-to-wing angle. ..... thinking about it I don't recall any Flight Simulators trying this ...... which seems odd.
max power 21 Posted October 18, 2012 The eyes move around and twist all of the time, but it's not apparent to the person. I don't think the twisting is responsible for the perception that your head is banking and not the world, but the way your brain composites many senses into a cohesive perception. Remember, though, that the aircraft has instruments because pilots can't rely on their perception alone.
haniya11 10 Posted June 21, 2014 Yeah well Even if there is any truth to dream interpretation, does the interpretation really offer any insight into your life that you're not already aware of?

Your eyes will not stay on horizon. They will look to the direction you are about to turn before you turn.
