Is it possible to start a new game with just 1 Island each?

Yes - it was actually. The stock game does not allow you to set the number of islands each owns "up front". A mod has been made that lets you go as low as 3. Short answer - had you read - is NO, you can't.

If your asking for help - and its provided - it would be wise to put forth a little effort on your own and use that thing in your braincase instead of being an arse to the people willing to answer you.
