species1571 65 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) So I had taken obsidian and treasure (in strategy game). Then the enemy took obsidian back from me so I went to take it back. When I got there, my telemetry was reduced as if there were scramblers but none were marked, and the brief said "no generic mission". Nowhere around the island could I get telemetry to include the CC and the gate to get a wlrus in. I managed to capture the island by putting the carrier on the bottom left of the island and producing a hook to get the walrus into the compound. As soon as I hacked the CC, the telemetry went back to full. While I was doing this, the enemy took treasure, so I went to take it back. Again, when I arrived, telemetry was reduced, but this time the brief was for shield boosters, so I went to the first booster location and the telemetry got weak. As soon as I took out the shield booster, telemetry was extended. This repeated for the rest of the boosters until I saw the shield drop. Now it looks like islands I go to with shield boosters are going to affect telemetry also. Going to make it interesting at least. species1571 65 Posted October 12, 2012 It seems this is happening with firewalls too. Went back to one of those islands and this time they had firewalls. Same thing, telemetry was reduced and hacking the firewalls increased the telemetry. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guess Who 10 Posted October 12, 2012 Seems that going back in time, in the sense of going back to previously visited storyline islands, is a bad idea. Seems that early story missions scrips are triggered again when you revisit those islands. I for one will avoid that in my campaign. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

species1571 65 Posted October 12, 2012 No, I have added that now. I guess it could still be connected to the campaign where some islands are having effects "globally". I scrapped that game halfway through anyway, not because of this but because even though I had enemy strength set to maximum, every island was weak or normal, the enemy had no defence islands and the carrier stopped taking islands after I gave him a bloody nose and let him escape.
