Deleting Betas

Recommended Posts

Every time I go to install the latest beta I delete the existing beta folder but as of late it fails to delete saying I don't have the privileges... and it doesn't let me take ownership.

So after 17 times trying to delete the armaoa.exe (in the beta folder) it will all of a sudden be deleted wtf!?

Is anyone else getting this?

That sounds very, very strange, and it definitely isn't related to Arma2 itself.

Is your computer used by multiple people with different user accounts?

Otherwise, have you recently re-installed Windows while retaining the old Arma2 installation folder?

That much is clear, as i76 has apparently already tried to take ownership of the folder, although without success.

My questions were directed at finding the cause of the permission issue, since something like this should be happening under normal circumstances.

I have recently formatted, reinstalled w7 and clean installs of all other software... same as usual with only my user account, I figured that since DayZ and all the script kiddies BI may have somehow locked it down a little... it is the strangest thing because it will eventually allow me to delete it.

I get by its just really odd, if it was permissions on my end then it would never delete untill I took ownership which it doesn't allow!?!

??? lol

Thanks heaps for the replies guys, will figure this out somehow :)
